Coming from a family of Polish immigrants- I can suggest that if you want a taste of authentic Polish sausage, look for Ostrowski's Kielbasa. The Weis in Westminster carries it.

Also, for the Carroll Country peeps- the Advanced Auto in South Hanover, PA is closing down. BIG price cuts on everything. I picked up a set of
re-manned car-quest calipers for the Taco- $16 each. I can take the cores to any Advanced to get the core refunds. I also got a set of calipers for the fire wood truck, car-quest brand, for $7 each.

I'm outside processing the pallets into kindling for the woodstove- it's starting to snow a bit.

Anyone have any offroad shops that does alot with Tacomas they recommend? I know some jeep shops that can work on them but I was curious of there were any toyota specific shops?

Id like to order a lift and have it installed. Just ordered 35s last night that's should be here next week. I was looking at the westscott or peak system.

 

No Limit Baltimore works on them, I’ve never used them though. One of the employees has a modded Tacoma though.

 

Sucks but after a while it almost just starts feeling like another day some years… hope yours was a blast though!

 

No Yoda specific shops that I can think of off hand… but a few decent shops around that specialize in lifted trucks for sure. Toyota’s are pretty basic when it comes to lift… 35’s are a tuff one to fit sometimes. What year truck do you have? 2 or 4 wheel drive? I’m assuming you’re going 4.5” or 6” of lift?

 

I have the 2024 tdr offroad.

I’ve heard those are quite easy to fit 35’s with maybe minor plastic trimming and a normal 2-2.5” of lift. I can’t say I know much about them bc of them being so new. There are few locals with them, but I don’t believe any are lifted yet.

What area are you in? In Carroll Co there is a shop called Barnes OffRoad that has lifted many of the new 4th Gen’s already. They have the contract to do all the lift kits on Koons Toyotas Tacos and Tundras. They are also equipped to balance large diameter tires and know all the alignment settings for these new trucks.

 

I'm on the Eastern Shore but I have no problem driving somewhere

 

Are the kits your looking at complete front kits? Do shocks and springs need assembly… or are they spacer lifts? UCA’s as well? What type of lift is the rear getting (full pack, AAL or blocks)?

Not sure if all kits need the diff drop or if the issue was the diff drop was loose/ not installed correctly and that cause the issue

Yeah I read that thread. That's one reason I was looking for a toyota specific or specialized shop. I don't know enough about toyotas just yet and was looking for more expert opinions.

 

It was a pretty interesting read. I wonder if there is a certain lift height when it becomes an issue or if without the diff drop it would still possibly pop out.
