Can anyone recommend an aftermarket front bumper (similar to OEM but not as pricey) for a 2000 4X4 Tacoma (TRD Off-Road MT Extended Cab)?
- I got clipped by someone in a hurry recently and want to replace the bumper with something OEM adjacent (the OEM bumper costs probably 10% of what the whole truck is worth so OEM doesn't make sense).
- There are some aftermarket options on Amazon and eBay (Evan Fischer seems to be a leading brand), just curious if anyone has had luck with them.
- Planning to take the fender off as well and have a body shop paint a new one (rather than try to mend the crumpled front of mine).

 

Check certifit and any of your local aftermarket auto body part stores they all have kinda the same parts be it local aftermarket or online aftermarket, some good some crap. The tong yang brand fender fit my 2001 perfect. You can also get sidemarker light from those places as well as rockauto but would not order bumper or any big body parts online cause of shipping usually eat your lunch. Good luck I just did fender bumper on mine got lucky found a bumper on craigslist.

 

Iv only had the truck for about a month or so. But when I bought it, it had 10 year old mischelins on it. I found a set of newer take offs but one of the tires I could never get to balance so finally I found a cheap set of swampers and I couldn't be happier.

 

Door handle on the passenger side broke. So replaced both handles with those metal ones. So begins the truck project weekend.

 

Lube them before install!

I replaced mine not too long ago, and before lubing when I went to open the door, the handle would catch on something causing the door to lock halfway. After lube its a nice smooth open.

 

Got me a CL Austin score, HF 12 ton press and toyota bearing tool for leaking rear seal PO had done. $120 for the package, nice. Tackle that after Holidays with confidence and not having my axles at a shop for days.

 

I was going to but they already had a ton on them from the factory. One mistake was not hitting the latch assembly while I had access.

I did get a press and the tool but Yeah, don't feel bad that's probably what I'll get for mine when I'm done with it.

Very nice catch. Is this a 12 or 20 ton? Thought the latter was needed for axle length...and for strength if want to do front bearings sometime. Looks like 20 ton is on sale now new for $219.
