Posting such pretty pictures and not telling people how they can do it ... that puts you on the naughty list!

Not naughty, but nice. See his signature for the build thread. The more I read the more I’m impressed.

the bam beds is $500. Ouch.

I think I'm just gonna have a custom mattress made and get a few pieces of foam to put under it.

Wow. Why didn't he put the full weight of the truck on the ground, before torqing the LCA and Lower Shock Bolt?

Sounds like a good idea! If you can sleep fine between the wheel wells, there were 2 of us and 43”x60” is not enough for me. I bought 2 pieces of 3/4” treated plywood (like $45@), made my own after hours of studying the pics for measurements. We also found a screened tarp called a slumberjack roadhouse tarp on marketplace for added area, but a small tarp, para cord, and a couple of well placed trees has also worked in the past. A small folding cot might be ideal if it would fit inside with the lid shut.

Looks like those custom mattress are pricey as well, we just bought a couple of full size memory foam toppers(a 3”and a 4”) at the Walmarks and took some 3M super 77, industrial spray glue, for a 7” mattress for our camper.around $100.

And here is the final product. Passenger side molle was a tad tricker than the driver's side but after riding around with the radio mount on the driver's side to test it out, it became clear that the passenger side was the way to go. Antennae routing and power connection to battery were done by a local car stereo place who made it look easy.

...another reason to follow the FSM!
Even the Haynes and Chilton manuals have that step included.

Lowering the Lower Control Arm is the most intense part of removing the Shock/Spring.

Keeping the shock bolt in-place and very slowly lowering the jack gently/standing back and watch the spring decompress.

I would get familiar with the jack learning how it operates to make it lower slowly.

My problem is, I sometimes overthink simple processes. lol

It's straightforward so technique is of the utmost importance...and it's a good idea to practice/get familiar with jack and how it operates.
