    My friend's '11 2nd Gen TRDOR needs new front CV axles. He has a 6112 coil lift, I think at the highest setting. His stock axles are long gone since the shop did not recommend replacing the torn boots and "sold" him reman axles.
    Napa has their #NCV 941899 Anyone had good luck with them? Any other brands to look at?

    OEM cv axle is the only truly viable choice if they are looking to run the truck a long time or wheel hard.

    Napa/Rock auto specials will suck.

    With a lift at the top setting on 6112 I hope they did the ECGS bushing....

    I shall repeat myself..... there is no version of reality where NAPA brand (or Moog, or whatever else) will outlast an OEM CV axle.

    I ran a pair of Napa Cv's in the 96 Taco the entire time I owned it and they never gave me issues. That truck was lifted and driven daily for several years. I have another pair currently under the Tundra, going on 5 years now. No problem.

    The part number you list has one review on their site about boots cracking in 30k. OEM CVs (P/N 43430-04071) are cheaper than the NAPA part you list.


    If you want to spend more and actually get an upgrade CVJ is in Denver and does great work.

    Cvj does great work but I don't think the boots they use are any better. For the price the napa is probably easier to warranty as well.

    OEM axles and OEM rebuilt axles from CJV Axles in Denver is your best bet. High angle inner red boot with the OEM outer boot. But you need an OEM axle to give them as a core charge.

    Aftermarket axles - Their boots wont last as long as OEM. OEM axles have better articulation at full droop and you will see less cv binding.


    I have installed aftermarket axles and found CV axle binding with a lift at full droop with something like an extended travel shock like Bilstein 5100 and 6112 on some occasions.

    I have also ran an extended travel shock on my own Tacoma, with OEM axles and even as much as a 1/2" spacer (To save some down travel in the shock) and still not run into cv axle binding. Every vehicle is a little different of course.

    OEM axles just articulate better, their steel is stronger for off-roading and the boots will last longer.
