I make more money by staying, vs going on vacation...
    Going on vacation, its averaged...
Staying, the pay check climbs the harder I work, the more I put into it...
Who cares if it's capped, I dont, it is what it is...

My point remains true, not really sure what point you're trying to make here. Whether hourly/salary/commission, if the employee does what they're supposed to do (even if its the minimum and they didn't go above and beyond), they're entitled to their fair wage (contractually agreed upon between employee/employer, who cares if its hourly, salary, commission). The point remains.
Good for you, some people aren't in it for the money. They find more value in their time off (or 15 minute break thats "required").
Literally everybody, besides the anomaly like you who lives to work and do nothing else. Its not laziness, its being a good steward. When your vacation is capped and you've reached that cap, you're literally losing money that you've worked for as you continue to not accrue for time you've worked.

If taking a break during a full shift is “entitled,” you gotta reevaluate your sense of “work ethic” as a moral good

Oh I understand it, but some folks are always trying to take advantage of the company's generosity (family owned). Example; smoke breaks WAY exceed the two 15min breaks, playing on the internet, personal calls, etc.. Are some worth the speaking to, write up for HR, yes, but not all.
Sitting in the shitter playing game, you get it.

I think what you're referring to, and what the other guy was referring to, are two very different things. Regarding this though, kinda sounds like the company doesn't care enough to do something about it and may even be contributing to this "lazy" culture in the workplace. You can say the company is being generous bc it allows for these activities to take place all the time, or you can say the company is being taken advantage of and employees are handling personal matters on company time. Discipline solves this.

It wasn't always family owned, last 7 or so years it became corporate...
    Penske Group...
All about .'ing their I'd & crossing T's, avoiding lawsuits, making simple everyday tasks harder & harder...
They tried implementing, "you must leave your stall & take your break, you can't eat lunch in your stall, you can have small refrigerators in the mechanics bays, etc"
In one ear, out the other...

When it became Penske, the younger gen, became even more entitled....

Another episode of "As My Stomach Turns": After phone call and emails I received a a call from surrender company as promised. I was informed that they do not have a surrender agent within 200 miles of where I live and the one that covers my area comes back to work January 3rd. My options were drive the truck 140 miles to the next dealership or wait until January. I fuckin lost it and dumped a whole pile of shit in this woman's lap. She is the supervisor so she gets paid to hear my nasty Italian NY angry mouth and at the end she said she will look for another alternative. Received a call from Toyota Brand Engagement an hour later and the plan is now this: The surrender docs are being overnight-ed tomorrow to the dealership. I should be getting this settled Thursday or Friday. The surrender company did not guarantee me the check would be ready from the dealership for the $974 they owe me so I told them I will not give them my truck until I get all checks. Brand Engagement confirmed now that I will have all monies waiting for me at the time of surrender. The person cutting the check and acting as an agent for Toyota is the same POS that lied to Toyota about a loaner car and has treated my like a POS during this whole saga. I told the Toyota Case manager exactly how I felt about the dealership and the person they are having do this with and if she pulls any bullshit with me all bets are off. P.S. to those asking about the lemon law attorney.... yes they would have to deal with this instead of me but the guidelines for lemon law arbitration are so cut and dry the monetary outcome would be the same and putting another entity into the mix would only drag things out even longer.. I cant expect the attorney to be on it in the same timely manner I would so I did it myself.

Well said on the attorney level, over & done!!!
As you clearly stated, won't do anything for you but take even longer....
You think an attorney will follow-up & push multiple times a week or even follow-up at all. They get paid by the manf to file & then they set back & wait..
    No urgency on their end.
If your getting another toyota, bite your tongue if you have no choice but to have that dealer service the truck..
Simply say, at the end ide like to give you an earful & think your a pos but not worth my time.....
Or, go ahead & light him up with both barrels....
    Move-on..
Good work on holding it together for so long...

Been a big test of my patience and with the other stuff I'm going through it has not been easy. I have my eye on 3 different 2023 Tacoma Access Cabs with low mileage and I found a 2024 Xtracab but too gun shy on the 2024. My biggest concern with the 2024 is IF it needs parts for the engine we have seen that there is no guarantee at all when those parts will be available. I'm leaning heavily toward the low mileage used model. Anyone reading this know of a 2023 Access cab 4x4 6cyl let me know!!!

Times have changed, you will also wait months for parts on a 2023, if you had a catastrophic engine failure like you did....
Ive waited 6 months to a year for multiple 5.0 coyote engines for the US border patrol f150's, multiple times....
    Wasn't new production up-ramp delays...
