Built it, now hurry up and wait

It is very odd that options available in other regions don't appear on the build list in South East. The bed mat for instance although I am sure it can be bought at the dealer as a special order. I want to get the windows as dark as possible but tried my eye doc. ( have very bad floaters in bright light even with sunglasses and surgery is risky, detached retina...) You have to ask your primary physician for the waiver that gives you permission to get the front windows and windshield tinted dark! He never looks at my eyes!! Strange state rules.

Anyway dealer told me that my 6 speed manual in Agave Orange could take up to 6 months to have it delivered but thems the break!

Do they have the truck allocated?

I think I was actually watching a stereo install video on a tacoma, dont remember where....
But they only showed the door jamb of the truck, interior shot..
Well, color looked just like this...

Ive actually seen 2 full size broncos a similar color...
figured it was custom, but dont think so from what my bodyshop manager told me during a discussion as he's a bronco fanboy..

Yes I think so

 

Last time I was at Barrett Jackson I noticed Toyota used a vehicle wrap on their Tacoma to simulate their orange paint. That's a lot of pearlescent in that orange.

 

SO is the only orange offered on the 2024 Tacoma. That truck has an iforcemax badge, and that photo is from the 2024 international carshow circuit. If anything it's a preproduction version of the hybrid, Toyota wasn't selling the hybrid during the autoshow season.

I meant to add there's a new 4R color called Cutting Edge, looks like it might be close to Ford's Avalanche grey a lighter version of Cement.

 

Sure is and even more when you see it up close.

 

Solar Octane is fairly pearlescent in very bright, direct lighting like sunlight. It’s hard to see it at all in almost any other conditions.

 

Solar Octane is discontinued for MY2025. Closest you can get would be Terra or Supersonic Red.

 

And both of those are completely different.

Aren't agaves green? Maybe the inside of them are orange or their flowers. Ford did have what they called Cyber Orange that was available on Bronco, Bronco Sport, and Ranger. I believe CO was dropped on 22 or 23 on all of those models. I can't recall what Nissan's orage is on the 25 Frontier. GM has a nice shape of orange, I wouldn't mind seeing a Reg-Cab Sierra 1500 short bed in orange.

 

Totally right! I love the color of my truck but every picture I take makes it look red.. Solar octane is one of my absolute favorite colors and in sunlight it has crazy depth. Just doesn’t come across in pics..

 

The last solar octane Toyota I saw was a 4Runner. It looked great. Some lighting makes it look like it has pink undertones, which I don’t care for at all.

 

I suppose I will see what happens, next big question is the tariff. I gave the dealer a 1K non-refundable deposit for the build, not clear since I placed order before tariff is in place that vehicle will be except or they move production back to San Antonio. My mistake, it is Solar Octane which is the orange color that someone said looks red in their pictures. Thanks to all who replied and thoughts on tariff and if Toyota will move operations?

 

A few thoughts:

1) You can't order or build a Tacoma - dealers can merely make requests for allocations
2) A non-refundable deposit is insane for a Tacoma
3) You will not be getting a 2025 in Solar Octane - it doesn't exist
4) Production will not move
5) The Tacoma will not be impacted by tarriffs
6) Do not buy a vehicle from SET or GST - drive, fly, whatever it takes

 

How did you come to that conclusion?
