Don't rush it. Doing it right is better than doing it twice.

I'm looking for a photo of a truck with an external roll cage and rear links. I'm 90% sure it's in one of the 4896 pages of this thread.

I haven't finished the external cage yet, but I have the rear links and back shelf of the cage. As soon as my new seats come in, I'll be doing the internal portion of the cage. That will influence some dimensions on the exterior of the cage going over the roof, so kind of on pause until then. I have designed most of it already though, so if you have questions about that, I can help. If you're just looking for styling ques, I'm about two months away from being able to help...

Holy cow that's an ugly cage

Here's one on a 2nd gen that contours a good bit better.

Iirc the black 3rd gen went to some china show or race or along those lines and the short time frame to build left them putting in an exo cage.

Anyone wired in an aviation intercom? I’m pretty sure I know what needs to hookup to my kenwood radios and my stereo, but seems weird to just run a single lead from aux outputs for music and the radio audio out. I feel like I’m going to pick up noise but I guess we will see.

I feel like exo cages are useless when going faster than like 10mph and 15+ degree angle. Anything gets behind or alongside one of the pillars and the body is still squishing you like the cage isn't there:notsure:

In retrospect I think I’d just pay the premium for plug n play rr or pci setup. But the flightcom is pretty tiny and fits nice in the console and let me put jacks wherever.

Tubbing again for the same size tire, 35? Or did you mean 37?

imo you won’t be tubbed too much unless it is a manual and you need room for the clutch, it will get tight.

I cut a significant amount more when I went from stock width and 35s to 37s and a +3.5 kit. I then stepped down to 35s again for a while and it still rubbed even though I never did before long travel with 35s.

long travel will give a lot more uptravel depending where you bump it which would give you a lot more rubbing

I just did almost same thing over the weekend. Married a JDFab bypass mount to a Total chaos race kit. After cycling it needs a +1 rod end for the bypass.IMG_8350.jpg
