One thing you might want to keep an eye on is that there is a good chance the pool noodle will rub cab paint off over time. Dirt will work its way in there and the vibrations will sand those contact points clean. I had some sort of pass-through rubber gasket that connected the cab to a topper on my '94 extended cab. I didn't pay it any mind, but at some point I decided to take the cab off and I discovered the paint had been rubbed off where the gasket contacted the paint. I was bummed.

Oh man you popped my bubble.

Maybe I'll remove the noodle this summer.

Yes, all front end noise is gone. So, who knows why, and how, does a sway bar get so noisy, and, can it ever be quieted once more? Jeesh. What the heck?

23 Tacoma Eibach.jpg Had the Eibach Stage 2R installed and set the front with a 1in lift. Rides nice and so much better than the stock suspension. I have 6112s on my 4Runner but the Eibachs are nice on the truck. I'll hit the freeways tomorrow.
Had the OTT done about a month ago and if you are in SoCal go see Q and get it done. I have the light/mild and its perfect. Took it on some long drives and no more gear hunting on inclines, no sudden up shits/downshifts and it holds power throughout the powerband. The best mod so far. It really changes the truck.

Yes!!, the sway bar end links are a ball and socket just like a ball joint and tie rod end, so they wear out and rattle going over bumps etc, replace both with quality parts, it is a common problem on a lot of vehicles... Also make sure the sway bar frame mount bushings are not worn out...

I ran a cable through the pool noodle to help pull it upward and then turned down the ends so it would drain.

I fucked that up on a video as well, torqued them up in the air. The lower control arm to frame bolts need to be torqued with the vehicle on its own weight.

I gotcha! It didn't come with a lock washer, but you're right....I need to go back in and add one. It's not in the fender area as it might look like. It's a really small switch and is in the cabin.

As long as you have the lift point as close to the ball joint as possible using a floor jack or sitting on a jack stand, then the suspension is loaded (on it's own weight) and you can tighten the LCA frame bolts to spec...

    Thanks!

Ive put about 300 miles on the RT01s so far, and compared to when new i think the RT01s are louder than the Rugged Treks. I had the Rugged Treks for 47k miles and the last 15k they were noticeably loud but it wasnt overwhelming inside the cab. They did fantastic and I wouldve gotten them again if they were made in 255/80

As for MPG changes, before the new lift I was averaging 17-19mpg on the Rugged Treks; after lift i had them for about 400 miles and it went to 16.5. So far with the RT01s im getting around 16-17 (i got 17.4 on my drive to work this morning, 14 highway miles light traffic @55mph). Looking forward to seeing how they do on our upcoming Christmas road trip

keep the top hat nuts loose but on but remove lower coilover bolt, loosen the cam bolts (after marking), swing LCA out of the way, loosen top hat nuts while holding coilover with other hand, slides right out. coilover is a complete unit so spring wont decompress.
I only need the jack for putting back together. easier to jack LCA into place for coilover lower bolt and lower ball joint bolts.

I was responding to the comment of why they do it without it being loaded.

Thanks...I'm going to be replacing the OEM Firestones on my 2020 TRD Sport soon so I'm shopping around. I've had amazing results with Michelins (275,000 miles between 2 sets on my 1994 SR5) so, Michelin is my default first choice but open to others.

Can you explain why you did this?
is the bed of the truck rubbing on the body creating noise?
what about all the salt and water that will now hold on top of the pool noodle, any concerns.?

    @K9tacoma truck looks great!

I picked up some ~300 mile Bronco take-off Bridgestone 255/75r17 tires this weekend from a local guy I know who does 4x4 installations. Just need to get some lugs and get everything mounted after Christmas.
