Person in the 3rd Gen section wanting to bounce off the rev limiter while in deep snow reminds me of the day I helped yank a Jeep out of the snow while wheeling.

    20220102_153454.jpg

At one point we literally stopped out in some deep snow and set up the grill to cook some food while waiting for the Jeeps ahead of us that were stuck - apparently one overheated and it was the same one that was bouncing off his rev limiter trying to get out of a deep rut he created.

yeaaaa sounds about right for snow wheeling lol. lots of downtime waiting for people to shovel/strap out, back up a couple feet, and then get stuck again

It was all Jeeps too causing the traffic. Here's the line when we got done and back out on the road.

I hear ya. I don't drive the truck often at all so 5k miles would be multiple years for me. I also don't want the width, weight, and lower ground clearance the D60 would be as i plan to only be on 37s.

yeahhhh that's where I'm at as well. I keep imagining I would drive it more if I wasn't worried about breaking it all the time  Also trying to plan for a future where I'd eventually add more hrsprs

fair, the SD60 are huge bastards. I had one because I was going to coil swap my 6.0 and I think the axle assembled weight was 800 some pounds...Not many other driver drop axles aside from JK/JL stuff.

I have been kicking around the idea of a dodge/gm kp60, swapping to driver side, and shaving the diff. they're 67" wms like the hp44 I have... but that's a lot of work lol

yeaaaa. also contemplated cutting 5" of the long side of a SD 60 off, that gets it to about 65-67" wms and 32" leaf spring perches.

I wish I had the time and energy for more shit like that lol
