is the bed of the truck rubbing on the body creating noise?

Not rubbing. It's all about reducing road-noise coming in through the rear cab vents whilst on the highway skeedaddling between traffic and 18-wheelers. I wanted to try it, as I do feel like the cab is not sound proofed in the least.

what about all the salt and water that will now hold on top of the pool noodle, any concerns.?

The only salt we have here in Florida is from the sea, and I try to stay out of the water. No concern, but for someone in northern states or in the rust belt, hellllyeah would be a concern to 'me'.

 

Yesterday I washed & waxed the truck after ~2 months or so. Forgot how good it looks clean <3.

Then I got to use it as a truck and finally took my factory MK3 Supra wheels to go see TheWheelJesus to have him dismount the 1997 date coded tires. If you're in AZ this is the guy to see if you don't want your wheels getting jacked up. These have been taking up a good chunk of real estate in the garage for the last year and I wanted to move them onto the storage shelf and have them take up minimal space until I can find someone who can 3-piece convert them. I put about 100 miles round trip on the truck yesterday bringing these out to his shop - f00king love driving this since I did the audio system.

Did you have to recalibrate the BSM? Mine wouldn't stop beeping so I had to turn it off.

 

I replaced all the parts and everything worked.

 

I already ordered TRD Pro headlights from Sparkparts, they had discount on shipping. I installed in my 2023 Tacoma. BAM was too slow in my opinion for everything.

 

Were you planning on using wheels and tires or just tires?

Just the tires ... the wheels stayed on the Bronco and got upgraded...lol.

 

Ordered Toyota Genuine 17" TRD Gloss Gunmetal Gray, TRD PRO 4Runner (OEM P/N:

PTR20-35110-G4). I wanted to stick with factory wheels for now and go a bit more aggressive in the stance (overall wheel offset will move outward just over an inch) and I'm planning to shoe them with Nitto Terra Grappler G3's.

Currently running the factory 18's that come on the Limited Nightshade. I'm trying to keep the blackout/greyed out theme intact but give it a bit of a custom look. I'll post pics once I get them installed. Here's my current stock look...

Got a 6 gang super cheap and instead of using some ball joint I went and created a drop in replacement for the overhead center console that retained the use of the 2 OEM style short switches. (no trimming or any sort of modifications to fit it all.)

Also have a version with a single switch option and one with no switches just the 6 gang so far. Planning on making one for a 8 gang as well down the line shortly.

I don’t want black wheels and wanted a 32” tire so I ended up with the same wheels.i like the cement color in concept but i wish the wheels had a little more contrast.

 

And I did this he other day. Wilco Tiregate. Had to put in a new switch for the Vleds bed lights so I used one of the holes from a previous stiffener.

 

It helps a little with road noise that comes from the fresh air vents in the back of the cab. I tried it and the noise was cut down but between holding moisture, salt, etc like you said and mine eventually fell and melted to the exhaust i would say not worth it.

Also replaced all 6 shitty factory speakers with Kickers and added a beatsonic amp. Sounds great. Thinking about adding a little 8" inch under-seat JBL sub now.

 

Installed a front camera with anytime front/rear switch, an Alpine amp for the front speakers, Kenwood amp and 10 sub, and fuse block over the last couple of days. Talk about stuffing 10 lbs of crap in a five pound bag!
