That where to type something into Google, and go with the answer based off your search result.
But the answer given wasn’t “fact checked”. So it might or might not be right?

 

Like the Goodman I tore apart a couple months ago, the Ducane had a Copeland reciprocating compressor…

 

I have no idea why this unit would be replaced, but a dead compressor is a definite possibility…

 

2009 was the finally year before the government basically outlawed R-22…

Another definite possibility was a drop in cooling performance masquerading as a dying unit, but actually caused by reduced airflow as a result of a dirty condenser; I NEVER let my condenser coils get this dirty!

I seriously doubt they were getting 13 SEER outta this unit!

 

I cannot think of any company besides Trane/American Standard that still uses recips…

 

The Frigidaire window unit was barely over four years old, but I could tell almost immediately why it was at the curb; I suspect it was being stored in a basement that flooded, and once I saw the inside, I have no regrets about disemboweling it and chopping it up….

 

Manufactured in October 2020…

 

99% sure that is mold in the indoor coil…

 

This is what led me to believe that it was underwater; I didn’t even bother to plug in the unit to see if it powered on, and it’s probably just as well…
