No I squeezed it in around the edges and held it in place where I wanted it. I used a popsicle stick to shove it down in the gaps. I held it where I wanted it until it hardened up then I kept filling it up until I thought it would never move again. My first head unit died after 3 years. I got another one a couple months ago and it came apart fairly easy. By that I mean I broke it the old head unit bezel off the hazard clock and the hot glue peeled right off. I cleaned it up nice and hot glued it into the new one.

    Something I hadn’t thought of…
Who here has this unit with a remote amp?
I don’t see a specific wire labeled for an amplifier remote turn on (usually blue and white).
I do see a probable solid blue antenna power wire, of which I could use. I don’t have any am/fm antennas left in my truck anyhow.

id have to look at my old one. Manual does not have any info? I was chatting with the Dasaita folks at SEMA this year. They have a small amp they are going to start selling as well so there def is a remote turn on wire back there.

Ive been debating upgrading to the one you just picked up @Sterling_vH111 Looks great when I saw it and my OG T9 Dasaita starting to show its age.

Is there a blue wire that says amp, may have a rubber cap over the end of it? May be on one of the different connectors that may not be needed or try the antenna wire. You can tap into this. I have seen this one referenced a bunch.

That blue is exactly what I just tapped into. Works. Good enough for me.

now onto the next hurdle, I completely spaced that I don’t have the stock radio mounting bracket anymore.
I have had a Kenwood unit with a scosche face plate since before I even bought the truck. Previous owner installed that and I had no clue it wasn’t OEM for the mounts/bezel.

ebay I’m hoping has it quick !

Any event, I hooked up the speakers and used the smallest loose with pretty much just the power ground and turn on wire for the radio — it powers up, plays music and CarPlay.

Question 2. There is an option in settings somewhere to turn that function off.

In my current Daisata I didn't even use the side mounting brackets. The unit was light enough I just clipped it in and never had an issue.

If you can get ahold of an early 05-11 HU the lower hazard areas fits in on the dasaita. they noted on the newer ones it should have been corrected. @Sterling_vH111 did you hazard section work without issue?
I was able to find an old unit or plate of a unite for cheap on ebay and used that. Assuming that is what you were referencing.

If you have the rear view setup. There is some threads here somewhere where yo can do the anytime camera mod. I had done that and then tapped into the video feed there to send the signal to the head unit. You need to get a signal to the radio for it to work. If its in the Rear view mirror it wont work unless you tapped that from what I recall. When I had the stock rear view mirror it showed up in the mirror and the Dasaita. I have swapped that out now and have a digital rear view.

I have a hazard from the later like 2014-15 without a clock - because I wanted to… it snapped right into place.
This one seems a bit heavier possibly, i just snapped it in for fun and jt definitely won’t stay while offroad. Even pavement would be questionable.

In my quick browsing around, I think it’s in the factory settings page, if the UI and software is the same.

Been messing around with it a bit more.

Call me dumb, but this plug is an OEM adapter to a USB… I’m not sure where it is supposed to fit. I thought down by the lower USB/AUX, but the plugs look different…
Any know this one or how to get the OEM USB plug to plug up to these radios?

Interesting. the old ones supplied dual USB and then you had to buy an adapter to use the stock one. I recall doing that so I had access to 3 USB ports. Did you buy that one? I don't recall but as you noted that doesn't look right. Whats the full pig tail adapter look like?

New Headunit looks great. At some point I will likely swap out my older Dasaita for one.

Mine came with a single usb cord, and a dual usb cord…
This little adapter is like 5” long and has a male usb to that female whatever…
I’ll message dasaita and see if they can explain what they intended.
I didn’t realise how “new” this unit was. Seems like they fixed a few of the issues with the previous software versions and physical fitment.

Mine fits perfectly with the hazards, well in the dash with just the clips. UI is pretty good, quick and responsive.
it looks like they have two versions on the website, one with android 13 and one with vivid.
I again, didn’t really realize this at the time, but I got the android version with the off-road inclinometer.
The only two things I could try and complain about is the pause/play lag of about one half second, and that when the screen switches from light to dark mode with headlights, you are not able to have the same preset background with the dark theme. You simply have a different set of dark photos to choose from.
That is negligible if you choose your own background from my photo.
I also need to figure out all the Google Chrome and play store stuff. I made the truck its own Google account, and have logged into a few different apps.
