I'll probably pick something up tomorrow. Manage to blow up a CV in the BMW so I got to replace both of those after work.

Good to hear about the bearings; I don't particularly think there are any in there since now that you mention it, it's definitely pinging but I was really doubting myself from expressing it since it seemed odd.

I would rather do a power steering pump and lines on a 1FZ than pull the upper/lower manifold again on this 2UZ

Speaking of neglectfully leaving out hazardous fluids, I just remembered I need to take my old coolant and ATF somewhere for disposal.

I have a whole jug of coolant from when I replaced the radiator on the Land Cruiser, and ATF from replacing the power steering pump as well.

 

I may or may not have been too lazy to empty the can on my bumper into my tank for the past 5 months

Tanks under a 1/4, should be fine to just throw it in the tank and top it off with some fresh stuff right?

I also have a growing collection of fluids autozone refuses to take lol. Coolant, atf, gear oil and a ton of brake fluid

Starting to lean towards just leaving it at their door in the middle of the night. I really don’t want to deal with figuring out how to go to the hazardous waste disposal place

 

I just haven't looked up where to take it, again out of laziness

But yeah same here, our local O'Reilly's only takes in old oil nothing else but the good thing is, they've never been full whenever I do a drop off

 

I've also got a 4 month old AGM battery I have no use for

Speaking of fuel, in my random late night youtube video watching I found a video discussing gas quality.

Only two states don't check for quality, and it's an on-going issue to this date - I didn't bother to look up the second state but the one covered in the video was for the state of Ohio.

Tons and tons of people every year end up with large amounts of water because gas stations only get checked to confirm 1 gallon paid = 1 gallon poured.

Crazy how so many people get fucked having to pay out just to flush their system out (on top of time wasted). There were even 3rd party testers getting a gallon of "fuel" only for a few ounces to be gas, and the rest of it was all water.

 

Yeah that's fucked up. When it comes to tuning ACN91 meaning Arizona, California, Nevada premium fuel has to be tuned for differently than the rest of the country's premium grade. Those states get their fuel from CA primarily and it has been shown to be closer to 89oct despite being labeled 91, some of the emissions reducing additives appear to ruin the octane quality.

 

Ok I never knew what that actually meant.

I remember reading about "bad 91" in CA as a general statement, and part of the reason why I had opted for an E30 blend tune but could never get consistent ST/LT numbers, hence also having a 91 and E85 tune as well.

I didn't know it was legitimately different.
