    Plow update:

It works! I was finally able to get some time in the daylight to work on it again today. Started by loosening the hydraulic line at the top of the lift ram first. Activate the pump and no change. Loosened the bottom line and fluid leaked out. Activated the pump and fluid shot out. Removed all hydraulic lines from the lift ram and removed the ram. Took the ram inside to my workbench. Drained the remaining fluid and cleaned the ram up a bit. Put a socket extension through the bottom bolt hole on the ram and stepped on either side then put another socket extension bar through the top and pulled. Hydraulic fluid shot everywhere as the lift ram extended. Cleaned up the mess and went out and installed the lift ram, connected the hoses and the rest of parts, tested the operation and it works! I will still need to replace a few hoses, aim the headlights, replace the rubber torsion bar, zip tie the electrical wires in place and repair a ground wire. But I am happy to have it working and happy I do not have to spend $200 plus on a new lift ram. Thanks to all who offered advice and encouragement.

So it's been raining here leaving the ground very soft. I managed to get my truck stuck in the field out by my barn. For some reason the 4WD wasn't working, and I had to get the tractor out to pull it back to the house. It took quite a few pulls, but I was a little impressed that a 4.5K# tractor was able to pull a 6k+# SD up a muddy hill. I was on my own so I had to put the truck in neutral, turn the truck wheels the direction I wanted it to go and pull it with the tractor. I took me over an hour to go less than 100 yards, but she got it done.
While I know this tread sucks without pictures, and I didn't get any pics of the recovery, but I did take a couple of the mud all over the tractor when I was done.

Glad you got it out, be careful with that by yourself pulling stuff out. My dad did that once with his flatbed truck, when he got to where he wanted to go he stopped the tractor and the chain came off the truck. The truck wound up further from where it was and the bed was against the cab when all was said and done because of the tree that stopped the truck

I was certainly concerned about it running into something while the truck was unoccupied. I had to navigate an obstacle course of parked trailers, RR ties, garden, and the chicken coup to get to the gate and level ground. Every time it would start heading in the direction of something I didn't want it too, I crossed my fingers and hoped it would stop before it got there. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

That's why, even though I don't 4wheel, one of the first things I did was put a winch on my truck. It's just cheap insurance.

Easy fix for this sir! Never loan out your equipment!!! My buddy on Johns Island SC lent his kubota out to his neighbors and they returned it empty on diesel and dirty. Nope, never, ever going to lend my tractor or tools out. Kinda like the military....they'll find a way to break things because it's the rental car mentality.

Steel bumpers and a winch are on my to list for this truck. It'll probably be a while, but I'm glad Ford includes good heavy duty tow points on the front of their trucks!

I had to learn the hard way of course! I lent my grinder out to my neighbor and he never returned it. Sure, it's an old $50 grinder I bought on sale, but that isn't the point is it.

I went out and bought a new one and reminded him of the one he still had. Told him to keep it. And now don't bother talking to him or offering help. It's their loss in the end folks. If anything, it's a cheap way to learn my lesson and identify those who would take more than they would give.

Yea I got a neighbor like that. Begged me to help level out his front yard. He had a mess of it. When I finally had time to go over there I asked about the stuff he used to spray his gutters and he said yes he’d hook me up. So I went over and spent a couple hrs straightening out his grades and left him to rake it out. When I was done he hands me this empty spray bottle of simple green and says “this is the stuff” like he was doing me a favor. Now I’m not a petty guy but if someone did me a solid like that I wouldn’t hand him an empty spray bottle. Plus I have simple green anyways
