I trust CarCarNut advice over Team Oil Drop. Don't do it if its not confirmed broken.

I measured before and after readings. No changes for me with it. I figured at 83k miles mine could use a cleaning but, guess it doesn't do anything, for better or worse.

Actually MAF range is available for Tacoma at idle, 2000 and 3000 RPMs. I have driven 35K on paper filter and 47 on toyota oiled one. MAF readings are the same
    Cleaning MAF is a placebo.

I cleaned my sensor and throttle body at 80k, other than hard on first start, no difference noticed. Not sure this made any real difference. I also dump injector cleaner in tank once a month, not sure it really matters.

I find vehicles idle better after cleaning the throttle body but that’s about it.

I clean my MAF sensor every other oil change but only because it’s easy and @Vlady says it’s a placebo.

Yeah I’m at 85k miles and am wondering from what I have read on here if it’s worth it but it sounds like at very least the throttle body is worth cleaning.

Yeah, I would for sure. Just make sure when you put it back on, that you get it on properly everywhere. I had a hard time getting it back on without pinching the rubber lips underneath or on the side.

I just did mine today. Once I got the air hose off I found a smear of sludge in both the hose and in front of the butterfly. The cleaning went fine but is that more gunk that I should have expected?

I cleaned my TB at around 45K miles and noticed zero difference in MPGs and performance.

Next spring I gotta do my plugs (60K miles/6 years) and would like to replace PCV as well. Doubt those things will make any difference as my truck idles and drives very smooth, unless i screw up a shift :)

Good to know, I just passed 40k a couple of weeks ago and figured I would give it a look.

Just did mine two days ago with 85k miles and likely the first time It has been done on this truck and looked the same. I didn’t notice much of a change other then it seems like it starts a little smoother and quicker compared to cranking over a little longer.

I cleaned my MAF sensor and throttle body the other day at 72k and the next day filled my tank. The fill up prior to MAF & TB clean, my dash DTE showed 325 miles, and the fill up after it showed 376 miles. Do those numbers sound right?

Shawgf, those numbers are normal. Depends more on how you drive and if you tow. Summer gas seems more efficient also. Some are able to clear 400 miles on the estimate, but I push mine a bit too much for that, also manual, so 4:30 gears.
