will the v6 tacoma flares fit a 4 cyl?

I was planning on buying some tacoma flares to put on my 4 cyl tacoma, but will they fit?
I know I will have to do extra work by drilling holes, but just wanted to know if the body lines would line up

 

Body lines should line up fine. The clips used for securing the fenders are kinda squared shaped and so are the holes. It would probably be best to try and make the holes square if possible instead of just drilling them.

 

I don't see why they wouldn't... Take for example an access cab. It can have either engine, but obviously the body of the truck, and thus the flares would be the same size.

 

Yes, the holes for the stock fender flares would be hard to duplicate and line up to get the stock clips to work right IMO, since the holes were probably stamp during manufacturing. I would look into aftermarket flares, you will probably be happier and it will be alot easier to install.

 

I'm assuming that you actually mean will flares from a prerunner/4x4 fit a base model? Engine has nothing to do with flares

 

I've got V6 flares on my 4 cyl.

Seriously though, it wouldn't be practical to attempt installing OEM flares.
Do these, they'd look better anyway.

Like them even more than my plain sock plain ones. The recessed attachment holes make the truck look a lot more rugged and less like a "Limited" edition.......Very Nice.(not sure about the chrome Westin Bull bar though..Black would have been my choice for that thing. Plasticoat it! (maybe the skid plate part only) I like brawny looking street trucks whether "mall crawlers" like mine or slightly modded off roaders.

 

i have factory flares on mine and the last owner replaced the fender on one side (one can only assume after a fender bender) with a standard fender... couldn't tell the difference until i got to highway speeds (for the first time 6 months after i bought it, speed limit is 45 all through north florida). when i hit that magic 70 mph i heard a bang like the tire popped, pulled over and the flare had folded back on itself. if you do go the factory flare route, i suggest doing what i did and pop a few rivits along the bottom edge, otherwise you will be running the same risk. i've done much more 70mph blasts since then, no problems
