Mine started a 6-cyl Infiniti after sitting in my truck for over a year. Charging every 6 mo sounds safer for sure.

Whats the difference? Had my eye on one for a few years, but never truly ever looked to know there were differences in models other than size.

These are the ones that have to be sold in Massachusetts and Canada. I do not recall the difference.

Aren't the small propane bottles being (or have been) phased out here in the US? I have a buddy heater that I haven't used forever so I wouldn't know. Just collecting dust at this point.

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed the date on that last post

    Refillable propane canisters.
    Flame King .. 1/4, 1/2, & 1 pound
    And
Fuel Keg by Mr Heater ... 1 pound

California is the first I heard to "ban" disposable propane canisters.

I looked into the refillable canisters the other day - might have to pick some up when I see them on sale.

I've been refilling the "single use" canisters for years and they're generally fine, but wear out quickly.

this article came out the other day

    https://gearjunkie.com/camping/refillable-propane-rei-little-kamper

looks like an interesting refillable thing. mostly for car camping. idk how difficult it would be to get something refilled if your doing a through hike or something.

but i also bought some gadget that lets me refill those single use green ones years ago. i freeze the single use one, then add the gadget to a bigger 10/20 lb tank and the pressure sort of equalizes or puts more into the small green one since it is much colder than the bigger tank.

i've since moved to one of those ignik (8 lb i think) tanks. works great and can use it with the ignik fire can and my stove. there is still one of those small green ones in my camping box though. had a few nights where we sit around the fire can too long and dont have propane left for the stove lol.

Sweet! Doesn't look like they're at my REI yet, but maybe soon.

I have 2x of the 20lb tanks and I refill the single use bottles the same way you do - freezing and using an adapter nozzle.

We have a nice propane fire pit we take camping and it uses a ton of propane on high setting so I like keeping two of the 1lb bottles for our propane lantern and as a backup for our stove.
