I'm at my Brothers house , had a fun time with his Great Dane yesterday

 

Good morning everybody! Did some trim work yesterday and ended up with double leg cramps during the night I could do without that alarm. Seems strange to be able to do floors crawling around on my knees and baseboards give me cramps must be something different in the motion but I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s looking good!

Good Morning all. Hope everyone is having a pleasant end of year / holiday season.

I finally have an answer as to the job I had interviewed for way back in October/early November. The HR clown finally replied to my latest request for an update, by telling me the company has decided to cancel all hiring and all open Reqs. So... no job for me. The down side to this scenario, is that my wife and I will be packing up to move over the next few weeks. I need to confirm with the "Save My KY Mortgage" program, but when we were accepted into the program earlier this year, they told us it was a 6 month benefit, and that ended with the December mortgage payment. With no other jobs / interviews on the horizon, We need to move out and try to sell the house before the lender may decide to take it back. My wife's parents have graciously offered to let us move in with them temporarily, fortunately they only live 20 miles away. This will be the 2nd time I have lost a house to unemployment. Not the outcome I was hoping for, but it is what it is.

I do want to thank everyone of you so much for the year long support and encouragement. It has meant a lot, knowing that so many of you have been keeping my family in your thoughts and prayers. The search will continue in the new year. Hopefully the economy will turn around and companies will start hiring, rather than laying off.

Wife had CT surgery on right (dominant) hand back in June. Fixed the middle two trigger fingers, but the thumb locked up post-surgery. I drove her down to the surgery yesterday and when she came out, although wrapped, she could move her thumb. Hopeful this is it for right hand. Next up, the left!!

It was 86 at sunset, in the shade, yesterday. Wind blew down the Christmas light tree in the front yard again, and blew over a tree of unknown nature that is in a big pot in the back yard. A few unreachable avocados laying on the grass as well. Today is still and back to the 60s.

 

I’m sorry to hear this, Tom. I hope 2025 is brighter for you.

Dropped wifey’s old car off at the garage this morning for a timing belt change before my nephew takes the car. I didn’t feel like doing it myself. I’m not really feeling upbeat today at all so my sister picked me up at the garage and we went to Costco for an outing. Place was packed! A couple hundred later between us and I’m home for the afternoon. See if we can keep the bad thoughts at bay. Played a bit of guitar. Maybe a nap. Should really go for a walk but probably not happening. Dog is laying in front of the fire so a nap sounds nice.

 

Mailman came. Thank you TW Fairy for the card. Just what I needed. I appreciate it.
