You’ve got lots of brands from which to choose. What you buy should depend on how you plan on using your truck.

This list is neither exhaustive nor “required”. I plan on keeping my truck so I did these things as part of long term maintenance on my 99 SR5.

Installed Bilstein 5100’s, new sway bar and leveled the front of the truck by 1.25". Replaced all worn bushings. ball joints, upper and lower control arm bars and tie rods.

Click on the 'Home' tab at the top of this page. Under Site Navigation (On The Left) scroll down to 'Suspensions & Lifts' - there you'll find tons of pics, options and insightful information. At the very least you'll be able to establish a starting point. Hope this helps and keep us posted on your progress.

Keeping mine as close to stock as I can. Bilstein 4600 all the way around. I have a set of new Toyota TRD coil springs that I'm going to help(supervise) my neighbor install early next year when the weather permits.

Also stock. Some parts are no longer available, Bilstein 4600's with Moog 81104 coilovers, OEM LCA's, rack, TRE's, ES rack and sway bar bushings.

How deep your pocket is will dictate what you buy. Sorry but that’s the truth. It’s hard to ask what others go with as everyone builds and use their truck differently. One will spend sub-1k and tell you it’s expensive while someone else will fork $5k or even $10k on suspension work and say it’s worth it.

Toytec Aluma Series Rear Shocks (2.0s)
(Don't have a pic of these installed)

This setup romps but cost me around $4000

If I had the time and Money :notsure: and was Physically able to actually enjoy off Roading, I'd spend the money and make some serious upgrades. But for me right now, Stock is best.

ARB Old Man Emu shocks and springs front and rear. Second Gen 1 I’ve so equipped. I’ve put OME kits on other vehicles, including my old XJ Cherokee and my Gen 2 Tacoma, and the Gen 1 kit is the best of the bunch. Mild lift (about 2”) and terrific ride qualify.

Upgraded from 5100's on stock springs to Sway A Way 2.5 coilovers, jba upper control arms, old man emu dakar leaf springs and 10" travel 5125's. Theres so many options out there and everyones got their own taste so it works out nicely. Im in love with my new suspension setup.
