I’ve got to adjust the ride height on my MRR coilovers. I’m going to use the method that was shown by keeping the strut in my truck. My question is, I have to remove the rebound adjusters to capture the stud with a 10mm Allen key. If I don’t get the adjusters back in for whatever reason. Will this cause any problems? Other than not being able to adjust rebound obviously.

It would only affect the rebound adjustment. Also you don't want to leave it open for junk to get inside there

Thank you, I have watched that numerous times and watched it while installing a few years ago. To be honest I could never make sense of it and never adjusted the rebound. I can’t really tell that I need the adjustment.

Just to make sure I understand correctly. If I want to lower my ride height. Which way do the rings need to be adjusted?

I'm running a similar setup to yours with the 318 coils. How have you liked the setup? Mine is so harsh I'm about to sell them off and go back to 6112... That tells you how bad it is. I'm desperate to figure out how to soften it up.

    Many.
Came to say the MRA92-A2522 12” fit the archive shock relo and are a thicker shock with a bigger reservoir than the kings I took off. Rear leafs are Deaver U402 S3 with archive hammer hangers and archive bumps. For an expedition spring, archive recommends 12 inch travel to avoid bottoming out although thick SOA leafs limit travel.

The fronts are way more compliant than my Fox or King set ups were. I’m very confident in this set up so far.

Also I made a tuning guide using AI if anyone is interested. YMMV.

I also recently replaced my Kings with Dobinson, including the 12" shock in the rear. Happy with the ride quality for the 2 months it's been installed.

That's awesome, can you also post some photos of how it's setup?

I really like this rear shock but don't really like the way the reservoir hose looks on the Archive kit. Dobinson hose goes straight down at a 90 where king and fox goes straight out. The only other shock relocation kit that I know of is from BAMF but I don't think the hose will fit in it either.

@Crikeymike, are there any other relocation kits that work better with this shock and hose that fit on a Tacoma?

This is the only other Taco I have seen online running these dobi shocks in a 14". They look sweet.

No, I'm not familiar with any others. If I had those, I'd probably trim out where the hose is by the shock tower down near the bottom to tuck the hose in better. Keep in mind that both ends of the hose have full swivels, so it's possible to get a better angle on it. I also would have rotated the resi around so the hose fitting is on the top, not the bottom of the resi, just to keep the hose higher up. And then take some spare heater hose or that corrugated plastic split loom stuff and wrap it around the hose so that nothing rubs. That hose is going to move around a bit the way he left it, so I'm sure he figured out how and where to hold it down.

Thanks for sharing that video though, I hadn't seen that yet. Such a big difference with all those changes he made.

I replaced my 12” king with 12” Dobinson. The hose angle doesn’t bother me, I like how I can rotate it. I’ll try and get another photo.

Agreed. The hoses are the least of my concern with RRW RR-7 H 3.77 BS plus a 1.25 spacer. Perhaps the fenders need to be cut unless I go with fiberglass.

Here is a plausible tuning guide after Dobinsons Florida emailed the engineers in Australia. It feels dialed for now until I visit some scales.

Thanks for sharing. I have -12mm offset wheels with 1.25" spacer and have not had to worry about the tire contacting the fender or shock body.

For page 6 of the tuning guide, the "clicks" are counted from fully open, correct? I am almost positive this is the case, but want to double check. Thanks!

Lefty loosey all the way out is zero. Right to tighten, like a regular bolt.

Yes. Clicks from open on compression and rear shock rebound adjusters.

Front coilover rebound doesn’t stop at fully open so just to be safe and not lose a detent ball I subtract the recommended clicks from 25 then count from fully closed.
