A little project I did last night. It’s a 49:1 autotransformer for a wire antenna for my ham radio. It matches the impedance of the antenna to the coax that feeds it (hopefully). Of course I discovered I’m out of the screw size I need to make the connections to the wire

Hardware store trip this morning, which of course meant I went by TSC where I ran into a buddy, which led to lunch with him. Then a stop at O’Rilley's because I remembered I needed some fuses for a different project so I’m just now getting home. At least I have the screws, nuts and fuses now.



This pulled up to O’Rilley's as I was leaving. I don’t think the V8 is original.

 

$8,000. Has 83K miles on it.

 

In my ‘08 I drive between 400-500 miles per week for work.
In my ‘15 I’m currently averaging about 300 miles per week going back and forth to work on our new home.

Had a couple of Dipoles to install but ran out of time before it snowed. Sure wish I would’ve put them up now.

 

I don't want to have to stop for gas, twice, daily

I used to live in an area like that….

Haven’t moved but others have invaded - noticeable traffic on the streets and in the store since the pandemic. Doesn’t seem to be dying down either
