1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I’m inclined to try getting away with just replacing the bell housing first since shipping on the whole trans and tcase is a killer. Like I said earlier, I didn’t hear any grinding when shifting through the gears on neutral, and no visible glitter. Idk how much that really tells me though. If the gearbox was bad, how much would the core be worth?

 

Before bothering with shipping on a complete transmission and/or transfer case, have you looked locally?

I know when we bounced the idea a week back or so, a few of us easily found some on FB MP.

 

Yea I didn’t find much around Rapid City. There are some options in western Washington and Louisiana though.

 

Core is worth nothing, just like the trans without a bellhousing is... I'd give you $150 for the trans with the broken bell housing. Locally there are a couple whole transmissions from resellers with warranty BTW

Yeah when I looked there were a couple of potential options around you, but the vast majority were west. If you can get to and from Seattle or Portland thats where most of them were for like $500.

Hell theres some local here for like 250 if he wants to move it a thousand miles

 

Some guy reached out from there on the Facebook group. But yea most seem to be out in Portland and Seattle. Shopping is about $400 from there to Moscow, unless I could borrow a truck or something.

 

It's like 6 and 1/2 hours to Portland and then you have a 6 and 1/2 hour drive back... $400 is probably cheaper than fuel and labor
