My hunting clothes have lots of pockets and every pocket has something in it. And every time I go out the same thing is in the same pocket. (For good luck of course) The only thing I carry is my bow and a flashlight that I never turn on. It’s just in case something big, hairy and scary attacks me in the dark. Now there’s guys that hunt near me that I see walking in or out that wear huge backpacks. There stands are maybe a couple hundred yards in and they sit for a couple, three hours. What they have in there I don’t know. I think they watch to many hunting shows on tv.

I agree on the backpack question. I see hunters on TV park their side by side 100 yards from their stand/blind and haul a backpack that’s stuffed to the gills with who knows what. I do know and realize that a few hunters self film so I get that, but most have camera guys with them.

I actually picked up another deer rifle on sale at cabelas. I got a savage 101 chambered in 308 win . it’s a beautiful rifle, complete camo .

Didn’t really need that much rifle, Texas white tails are not that big, but the price was right.

Weather has been weird here too. I went last Saturday and it was close to 70. I was doing public land, and didn’t see anything.
