Just got a SR5 Xrtracab 4x4. It's my 5th Taco in a row and I'm really liking it so far. Anybody else in the SR5 Xtracab 4x4 club? Based on my experience finding and buying this one, seems they are pretty damn rare. First mods: delete the stupid air dam and felt splash guard, add NYTOP cross member and Trailhunter skid plate, add Gator tri-fold tonneau (temporary, waiting on an AluCab Contour cap, they said it could be a while), add OEM bed mat, add Lastfit all weather floor mats, add Nokian 265/70/r17 studded Hakkas, because this truck's gonna live in the snow, like its predecessors. Some pics of "Gringo":

Good luck with the truck. I'm waiting for Toyota to give me a buy out check for the 2024 TRD OR that was a lemon. Thinking of the Xtracab in SR5 also. Everything about it serves my purposes well. The 2024 OR I had road like a dream (till it died within 200 miles) ... no bed hop or rear end feeling so light. How does this ride with the leaf springs and longer bed? There are none local to test ride. Love the Prerunner but would regret not getting 4wd living in the desert.

Would have loved an extra cab but needed a back door for my old dog to get in and out. Sweet truck an share some interior pics!

I think you have a better chance of finding a flying unicorn than a sr5 extracab.

maybe that will change in 2025

And in 4x4 also! I found 1 the other day and it was available at a dealership out of state. I couldn't make the move yet and I'm sure its gone by now.

Bummer about your truck! I've had great luck w/ my Tacos, which is why I keep buying them. The new one rides better than the '18 TRD OR I'm coming off of. Way quicker accelerating and better shifting. Xtracab is supposedly the "work truck", so it has a beefier rear suspension than the other models, at least that's how Toyota is pitching it. Mine came with a trailer brake controller, which seems absurd for a little 4 banger with a whistle. Why would anyone buy this truck to haul something with trailer brakes?

I only found one other one in weeks of pretty active searching and it didn't have parking sensors, which for me is a must. Mine also came with the cold weather package (heated seats and steering wheel), which was a major bonus. Given the list price of the SR5 Xtracab is nearly $10k less than a comparably equipped TRD OR, I'm guessing they could become a lot more popular.

Don't let them get too popular until AFTER I find mine!! :) I settled my lemon claim today so the search is officially under way. I found a 2024 Trailrunner but 2wd only. With all the sand here in southern Utah I will need a 4x4. The SR5 can come in 4x4. I love the look and the style of the Xtracab and I never have more than 1 other person with me and that's rare also. The accessibility to the rear storage area is also a non issue for me. Going to put my feelers out now that I am liquid again.

XCs are definitely rare---- out in the wild I've yet to see any other than mine.

I'm definitely on that trend. My older dog is 100lbs and my younger one is 40lbs. The next one will be 10lbs for sure.

Out of curiosity, what was the MPG on the window sticker?

Can you post a pic of the door jamb sticker showing total vehicle weight and hauling capacity.

Just wish you could get this model with a rear locker..

I saw a white trd offroad xtracab at Camelback Toyota yesterday outside the delivery bay as I was walking to the parts counter. At least I think it was a trd off-road. Maybe it was yours?
