    @Lt. Dangle

    Have you ever heard of a Thermo Pride central A/C? We delivered to a large house on Tuesday that I believe was the 2011 Bucks County Designer House, which I went to with my parents. Why?

    Thermo Pride is not a common brand, and they are immediately recognizable for their dark brown composite plastic construction, as opposed to metal; I think they stopped making them over a decade ago, and literally no other company used plastic construction. The 2011 Designer House had four of these if I remember correctly, and it is quite possibly the only house with Thermo Pride A/C units in the area!

    This is officially the third house in my neighborhood to get one of the original Goodmans replaced. In this case, it’s a Carrier…

    They have Copeland Scrolls if I remember correctly, and they’re quiet, but I’m not sure how I feel about them seemingly being made from the same material as a Trabant 601…

    Not a Steelers sticker. You used to see these stickers on stuff made with American made steel from a certain area lol. Steelers sort of borrowed the idea and what not.

    Did you see this thing? Someone from a vintage A/C group I’m in believes it could be from as early as 1964, and it works!

    Remember, I sold a 1981 York Champion central A/C and 1969 York air handler for $200. People collect these, just like people collect and restore old TVs and radios. There is a large movement dedicated to saving pre-1990s A/C units from the scrapyard and keeping them running. Early 1990s is when they seem to have gone from metal ducting and fan shrouds to styrofoam, and after about 1995 or so, the overall quality of window units just went down the toilet.

    They may not be as efficient in terms of energy consumption, but they perform better and last longer than anything you can buy today!

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    That thing is a unit, wish my current 12k AC had aluminum extrusion brace pieces, always afraid the those are going to break when I remove it from the window after summer.

    That was a US Steel Symbol back then, I remember a few different items having that symbol when I was young.
