Do any tire brands (Toyo, BFG, Falken, etc) make either rating? I'm trying to avoid E rated for mpg reasons, and I've looked on web and on this site and haven't been able to find a definitive answer, which is leading me to believe they do not... I've found C rated in other sizes (255/70r17) but not in 80.

AI told me this about 255/80r17, but I would rather not buy either of these:
    • Cosmo Mud Kicker M/T Mud Off-Road Light Truck Radial Tire: This tire has a load range of C and a black side wall.
    • Firestone Destination M/T2 Max Traction Truck & SUV Tire: This tire has a load range of C.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Check out Tiresize.com , they list tires, size, weight, load range Pretty much E in that size.

There are a few 255/75r17s in C and SL. Not sure if that helps.

Thanks for this. I got pulled away from tire research but the link helped me figure things out. Would be nice if there was more in the 80 series C rated though.

Thanks - yeah I think I'll go with 75s for better mpgs. How many I'll save remains to be seen, coming from stock wheels.
