A little of this and a little of that.
    Good evening all-

Another decent day here. Knocked out several items on the never ending to-do list.

    Looks great Marty
I will get cramps/restless legs if I don’t drink enough water throughout the day.

Dammit Tom. Hopefully in early 2025 you will find employment.

All the best to your wife for a good recovery from the surgery.

Hang in there Paul. Naps are always a good option.

    Nap. See above. :D

Good evening, gang. 2 more days until the Winter Solstice.. I might make it (psychologically) over the hump.

Sounds like dehydration. I stated using LMNT a few times ( free sample pack) the stuff worked better than any Poweraid or electrolyte mix that I've tried.

Good grief, I was hoping for some good news for you. Have you looked into that VA program for assistance? I hope that you can pull out of this.

Too late to have any meaningful impact, but nap/do Weesa stuff. No one else is working, why not you as well?

:hattip:Good morning folks, snowing outside, good thing it’s not snowing inside :D 8-8 ounce glasses of water a day, more when it’s hot and you’re sweating. Water is a natural blood thinner among other things. Coffee, soda pop , and beer doesn’t count. My doctors all agree on this, but not much else
    Oh yeah, Happy Friday :bananadance:

I've had surgery on both my thumbs for this. While they no longer lock up, they still crack and occasionally need manipulated to move freely, as they kind of stick a little. I will say, these surgeries were the easiest I ever had. The doc used a local anesthesia. I talked to him while he did a 20 minute surgery. The I drove home. I hope your wife's surgery works.

:hattip:Morning Guvner, I get to send out a multi text to a bunch of friends today. It’s for my wife’s last day of work at a local bar, that she suggested. Now she doesn’t want to do it and most people already know about it. :annoyed:I’m going for it, I’m driving her to work that day so she won’t have a choice, I’ll take the heat later. 39 years working for the county , deserves at least a beer.

    lol!
    Good luck!

Maybe the 20 mile move will open up other options. My wife has been unemployed for the last 5 months. Things have been tight, but I learned my lesson from past mistakes with my ex, so we’re getting along by pulling back to our core fixed expenses.

I think it’s starting to dawn on my wife that she needs to be applying where people are hiring and applying for what they’re hiring for vs looking for exactly the same position she did at her old job.

Like it or not, it’s pretty clear that people aren’t looking for a 56 year old office manager at $30 per hour working 9-5. On the other hand, she could be working at the Post Office right now for $20 with a variable schedule and room for advancement. She could also be working as a manager trainee at Kwik Trip for 50k but it involves nights and weekends.

It sucks that you start to feel disposable after about 50 years old. It shouldn’t be this difficult for hard working people to stay employed until retirement.

I won an EEOC lawsuit against my former employer a few years ago, and my wife’s case against her former employer just moved forward to the next stage. It’s a shame that it has to come down to that, but it’s the reality in our country right now.

I hope the new year brings good news for both of us.

    Bill
