Solid choice. I'm actually interested in the Maxxis Razr AT as well. The 265/75R16 was only available in E load when I bought my last tires. They now have them in SL and r listed as only 39lbs on their site. The wildpeak at4w is listed as 45lbs each. At 39lbs that even beats the Toyo at3 (41lbs, I believe).

I have also been pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of the new tires coming out have a decent amount of 16” sizes. Makes me wonder if 16” wheels are making a comeback in the eyes of the big tire companies.

FN 5 star wheels (they weigh less than 19 pounds.) with Mickey Thompon tires in a 285 75 16. (They weigh 56 pounds) I'm going to go a 255 85 16 yokohama MT next time (that weighs 54 pounds and its a little taller and narrower) . My advice is to go light as possible. Extra tire and wheel weight is one of the worst mods you can do to your truck.

I second the FN brand of wheels. I have the 5 Star as well but in the 17”. But I do like the looks of the 16” better.

I've occasionally thought about and even ready to buy aftermarket but I just haven't because I've already got the TRD Pro wheels. My only dislike is they're tougher to clean because of the design.

Otherwise I'm a fan of the Enkei RPT but I just can't get over how unfinished they look without centercaps in 16" sizes. It's tough to find aftmarket wheels that are lighter or better looking than the factory Pro wheels without spending a small fortune.

I have those on my truck now but in the 285-17-70 size SL. I went with these due to good reviews and the fact they weight 43 LBs.
    IMG_5854.png

should mention also have about 35,000 miles on them now. I had a bad alignment that took off the inner thread prematurely and have since corrected that. Probably get close to 15,000 more +|_. They came with a 60,000 warranty.

KMC Trail wheels with 265/75-16 Geolander MT's. I'm running a 2" lift. Best part is my speedometer is dead on. It doesn't require calibrating.

That should just be a sticky.
All these KMC wheels look pretty good. They're all over 30lbs. Everyone raves about the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. do you want 33s? That'll be 70lbs/tire. Pretty soon your 33" wheel and tire package weighs double your factory setup.

We offer some really light weight options in 16x8". In fact, that's how we got started almost 20 years ago with our first wheel that we offered for Toyota trucks - the 16x8" Countersteer Offroad (we still sell an updated version of this wheel today).

In general we've seen a steady decline in sales of 16" wheels over the last couple of years, which is a real shame because I personally really like smaller diameter wheels on the Tacoma.

We have more than a few options in 16x8" which weigh less than 20lbs per wheel and have at least a 955KG (2,100lbs+) load rating. We don't manufacture the 16x8's as frequently anymore, but if interest picks up (perhaps a group buy at discounted pricing?) we'd love to make more 16x8" wheels for you guys.

16x8" +0mm offset FN Wheels / Konig Countersteer Type X

The 16x8" Countersteer Type X is a flow formed wheel, has reinforced / strengthened lips and flanges, weighs only 19.5lbs per wheel and is load rated to 955KG (2,100lbs+) per wheel as tested to stringent SAE J2530 standards with up to 35" diameter tires. The wheels are hub centric for Tacomas, and the lug holes are machined to accept extended thread (ET) lug nuts for maximum stud engagement on short, OEM Toyota wheel studs.

This is about as light of wheel as you can possibly get without going fully forged ($$$) while still maintaining a very robust load rating that far exceeds the Tacoma's axle rating.

Exactly. People put on that weight and then complain about loss of power, and bad mpgs. People should give a closer look at the Mickey Thompson Baja legend over the Boss. It's lighter and has wider spacing on the outside lugs than the Baja boss (more like a MT). I've had them in sand, mud, rocks, and wet pavement. They've been great in all of the above. WAY better than my previous toyo at3s. Where I live I rarely see snow though so I can't comment on that.

Loving the FN 16x8 Countersteer type X's myself. Nice lightweight wheel and combined with Toyo at3 265/75/r16 SL. Weight is about the same as stock setup. No rubbing on stock Trail edition lift.promo_2wheel.jpg

Don't listen to anyone else. Trail Edition bronze wheels with 255/85r16s are the bestest best. Trust me and my whole ass 12mpgs :')

Trail edition wheels are pretty awesome. Only real complaint with them is they take a bit longer to clean.
