    @TheZara,

    Something to consider if you are looking to purchase new wheels is what size tire you may end up running eventually. With 16" wheels IF you want to go bigger than 265/75/16 you can take an approx 10 to 15 lb weight increase per tire when going to 285/75/16 or 255/85/16 (both are ~33"). Of course it depends on the ply rating and specific tire but that is an average.

    I currently have 42lb Goodyear Wrangler ATs at 265/75/16 and would like to go bigger BUT am not thrilled with the pending acceleration and mpg hit of going to a 54 lb tire (the lightest 33" AT tire for 16" wheel I've been able to locate thus far.)

    17" wheels give you lighter weight 33" tire options. Just something to consider if you're planning on dropping $1200 or more on wheels.

    I dunno, with the skinny 33s and lightweight factory wheels you're probably around 80lbs for the combo.

    Wheel weight is honestly not as big of a hit as people realize. Its more so tire weight, width, and type of tread that have the greatest impact. I have a 4 banger so wheel/tire effects the power more than the 3.5. I changed my wheels and tires from light 17.4 lb fn 16x8 2020 trd pro replica wheel and 41lb 265/75/16's so combined weight of 58.4lbs. To trail wheels which are 23.5lbs and same height but thinner 235/85/16 at 40lbs so 63.5lbs and I picked up power and 1.5 mpg, with increasing my weight about 5lbs per corner but a thinner tire was the difference. 4 bangers come normally the heaviest stock wheel, a steelie at 28-30lbs a wheel and mileage is not effected. The further from the center axis of the hub the more the weight comes into play.

    When I was shopping for the Taco I was 100% sure that I would change the wheels. I was looking at Method, Fifteen52, Nomad, 4r TRD SEMA and some others. But when I got my SR with an SX package, I kinda dig those wheels.IMG_1447.jpg

    They are really good looking wheels . . . and yeah impossible to keep clean. I have similar wheels - since I won't be going off road for a while I really cleaned her up and cleaned each nook and cranny on the wheels - they were looking good - ran a few errands the roads were a little wet but never went off pavement - and you guessed it the wheels need to be cleaned up again - nothing like when I go off road but yeah they don't stay clean for long especially if the roads are wet.

    This is great info, I really appreciate it! Will keep that in mind. I plan on running 34's but that wont be for a FAT minute. I plan on sticking w/ a 16inch wheel until I can afford a kickass lift then maybe ill jump to 17's once I have the geometry of the truck looking/performing how I want it to.
