damn giving me some vivid flashbacks talking about hookah bars...circa 2008 a buddy and I used to go to one all the time. I remember seeing one dude have a seizure there once too (was certainly epileptic but the massive hits of nicotine probably didn't help). Back when hookah was all the rage before people realized how heavily addicted to nicotine they were getting from it lol.

The good to having a bigger house - we finally don't have to travel for the holidays, people can just come to us

the bad - people are coming to us

Oh sorry, the other bedrooms are condemned, kindly fuckoff to the nearest Motel 7 or Super 6 after 8pm. At most you may arrive one day early and leave the morning after... any more and you've overstayed your already overstayed welcome

If only lol. But at least I'll finally have space to retreat into when I need a break. We'd still have people over at our old house (they'd stay in a hotel at night) but having family/in-laws over all day in a tiny 2 bedroom house you literally have no where to hide for even 2 minutes.

The one thing I will say is this new house is even less soundproof than our former tiny 100 year old house. I think it's the lack of carpeting and all the hard floors. You can hear someone whispering upstairs from the downstairs/opposite side of the house if it's quiet enough lol.

Unlikely. At least it's just for 5 days, and I'm pretty sure a couple of them will be leaving earlier than that. Her uncle is the kind of guy that hates being away from home and interacting for long, thus always convinces her aunt to leave the family xmas gathering after a couple days. It's like looking at a future version of myself.

Also I'm working Mon & Friday next week, probably be one of 4 people in the building.

Yeah, I like to be able to do my own thing 99.99% of the time, I'd rather sleep in my truck at a Walmart parking lot than stay at other peoples houses including (especially) family. I don't like having to excuse myself, but most of the time I prefer being alone so I opt out of lots of stuff because "work" or whatever seems relevant at the time

I am sharing pictures from the LC250 group made in the Ouachita Mountains. I want you to know I have deep personal knowledge of this mud hole.

This is one of our Rigs and Coffee trails. I'm impressed by the LC250's ability to take on the mud holes.

That damn mud hole has been the ruin of a few rigs over the years.

You are damn lucky to have junkyard with relevant cars to pick. Those days belong to the past for me.

    No kidding

I posted about a 300ZX part and my dude posts a current pic of one sitting at a yard

There's a pick and pull near me, but I haven't actually checked it out at all

I think a key indicator of the ideal mid-sized city is that it's big enough to have a well-stocked you-pick yard, but not so big that everything in the yard is completely picked over after three days.

That's how it is with Toyota parts here, everything is instantly gone

Fortunately there's one guy I know (also on the forum) that has sold a lot of parts for not much money

He parts trucks out just like @Tour991

Same here: Engine, trans, and rear diff is almost always gone before the truck is even listed on the website.

The website doesn't get updated until the day after new vehicles are placed, and I know (because I talked to one of them) that there are guys who show up every day just to see what's new and have a list of people to call and see what they want.

The most frustrating part is that those guys would rather use a sawzall than a wrench, so any wiring harnesses, dive shafts, body, and frame adjacent to whatever they're pulling usually gets destroyed.

We used our fireplace last night for the first time, River might be a future pyromaniac. Little dude was freaking obsessed with it and kept wanting to get right in it...holding him back listening to him babble incoherently while staring at the flames sounded like he was trying to summon a fire demon from hell

I remember when I would jump in the car and make a run to Memphis just to hit Pull-A-Part. The checkout lane looked like a Walmart.

The cool thing was I could pull an intake manifold complete with injectors, throttle body, and all the accessory parts, and the checkers would only charge for an intake manifold.
