The 1UZ also has it in the valley like a 2UZ, but I noticed that different vehicles have more clearance than any GX470.

Videos/pics of those changing the starter on a Tundra easily fit a 3/8" drive ratchet with socket in the back.

I had to use an angled adapter, stubby ratchet, and regular 6 wall socket just to get on the bolt all while laying on top of the engine

 

Probably wasn't designed for a V8, doesn't the Prado have a diesel 4 banger in most markets early on and then a diesel V6 later

 

Right, like a V8 in a 4R/GX for the US was an afterthought cause the 1GR just wasn't enough

"hey, those fatty Americans like their V8s...let's give them one"

 

Stupid thing is the 1GR has a huge MPG benefit and is only short like 20hp... but can actually handle its supercharger vs the weak 2UZ which had to have its pulled from the market for bending its own rods

 

My buddy's 1UZ spoiled me; I like my 2UZ as is only because I accepted from the get go that it was mostly to cater to old people

It's slow, idles so well you can't even feel it, and has a very predictable power band

But knowing the get up and go the 1UZ has is like a big fuck you to the 2UZ

 

Guess both my leaf springs are broke, that's cool

I dunno, everything was fine when I swapped the axle

I don't know what to get, this is the 4th set of springs this truck has had in its life

aftermarket springs, dunno if they'll recall.
And the nearest dealers 2 hours away

 

Wonder if 4th gen shocks fit

 

These top-side creepers are a game changer. However, it's just taking up space in an already crowded garage.

And a First Edition no less. Good on em! Most of the Prados are, as expected, soccer mom trucks around here, nice to know someone is putting their nearly six figures to dirty work.
