    Oh wow, those backlights are pretty useless. lol Well, I might pick up a set for the cleaner factory-like appearance and because of the sharp cutoff performance of the fogs themselves. I just hope I don't buy a set and they come out with a newer model in a year that has a better backlight.

    That is really all that could make them better. The output rivals HID performance and might actually be better than the Morimoto V2 headlights. I wish DD would come out with an OEM+ headlight for the 3g that uses 2 of these Elites + their rgb boards. Would be the perfect headlight IMO. Anyways, I absolutely love driving with these fogs, just wish during the day the backlight was noticeable.

    I know the purpose! That’s why I bought it to use for the backlight feature. But after looking at my SR5 Halogen lights and a friends TRD OR Halogens I can’t locate the plug where this T’s into.

    Unless both our trucks don’t have the connector like you have in your disclaimers fine print.

    Thank you for verifying. I think I might bite the bullet on a set of these in selective yellow and "upgrade" from my OffRoad wide angle halogens with +100 bulbs.

    Will I notice much of a difference going from the wide angle OEM halogens to these?

    The backlight harness DD has works for TRD trims which came with halogen headlights. SR, SR5, Trail, and OEM LED use different connectors and do not have the 4 position DRL connector to mate with that backlight harness.

    SR, SR5 and Trail have DRL combined with turn on a 3 position connector:

    Any halogen headlight (round projector for low beam) can use a simple T off sidemarker for sending parking lights to backlight:

    I also have versions of this for 2nd gen and 4Runner which have a slightly different connector, same basic idea though.

    Meanwhile, OEM LED use a 6 way Molex connector:

    Also note that my T harnesses for DRL and Park are / were originally designed for grille lights so the DD backlight is a compatible add on. The sidemarker T saves on cost because it is specifically for backlight only.
