They only will pick up radar if the Officer is transmitting from his unit. For example, the unit can be turned on but placed on "hold" which means it isn't transmitting or sending out a radar signal. If I'm really trying to catch someone speeding, then I'll drive with it on HOLD until I see a potential violator and then begin transmitting. Usually if this happens, it's too late for your radar detector to warn you and it will probably peg the meter. Occasionally if I'm feeling lazy and want to leave the unit "open" and not on HOLD, then a radar detector that's in the area would likely begin to pick it up. Also, this is just me but if I catch someone speeding (usually 15+) and I see they have a radar detector when I get up to the vehicle, then it's a ticket.

Totally understood and didn't mean to get this off Tacoma topic haha, just wanted to not ignore something that was asked. I'm not trying to condone speeding or anything either and have no problem with police, I don't have any tickets and try to keep it that way!

@OPD75, if you're in San Diego speeding was a decent sized problem. I used to hate coming home from Chula Vista on a Fri/Sat/Sun. The street racers would dominate the express way of love.

Back on topic, I changed my oil today if that counts. Will lube the propeller shaft tomorrow. Ran out of time today.

Merry Christmas’d myself a TX Baja suspension.

Hey y’all, so I’m going to be doing the install myself and have already done a third gen front and rear install but for the sake of my OCD, for those of y’all who purchased the Baja suspension, did any of you keep the install instructions or have a pdf you can attach and shoot my way (for torque specs, and other miscellaneous type info specific to this setup…?

    Many thanks!

I just got my 09 back a few months ago after getting a Macco paint job. I am really happy with the results, I didn't have any dents they charge extra to fix them, they won't take the fenders off unless you pay a little extra.
Cost me 3 grand and a couple weeks with no truck.
