I’ve got an appt. in about a week. Really stoked this will be fixed. Just in the last few weeks it’s gotten exponentially worse.

I called a dealer and they put me on a waiting list. I also have other parts of the truck flaking though. The hood and the bed. The bed only on the passenger side as of now. It looks like they didn’t give enough coverage behind the bumper

I recently purchased a 2020 white Tacoma and stumbled upon this. I am confused with the warranty work, if the paint is bad shouldn't the whole truck be repainted? Isn't it only a matter of time before it all peels? I just looked over the truck and found a a pretty big chip that was filled (doesn't look like any damage at the spot and then this fairly decent sized spot on my door that looks like its missing clear coat... is this the start of a big ole paint chip?

Just got done talking to my local Toyota Collision Center. The rep said they have a huge waitlist so my truck will have to wait for an unknown amount of time. But she did say she could get me in as early as next week if I don’t need a rental car. They would have my truck for up to 4 weeks. Also, when I asked about Toyota covering the bed and other areas, she said that Toyota would not reimburse them for anything outside of the program. Seems odd based on others experiences, but it could be a regional thing

They said the same to me about my hood. I told them people on this forum are getting other panels painted, so they called Toyota to get approval to repaint my hood.

Picked up my truck from being painted last week, color match was on point. Took the body shop two weeks to paint, and dealership provided me with a loaner.

Only the front fenders and all four doors were repainted. Was told nothing else would get painted, even though my gas cap cover is showing visible signs of peeling/flaking. The black fender flares on my TRD OR were reused, but they applied a dressing on it so it looks like new, for now.

See below snippet for the items that were replaced.

Just got my truck back after Toyota having it for 3½ weeks. Excellent job. Hood, all 4 doors, both front fenders and my pillars look like they did when I bought the truck. Couldn't be happier. Only complaint is how dusty the inside of my truck is from sanding and such. No big deal though.

Just picked up my truck from Toyota of Redlands today. Both fenders, and both rear doors were repainted because those were the only areas that were peeling on my truck other than a small area on my gas cap lid as well. I had no luck on getting the gas cap lid repainted, since it isn't specified on the paperwork that was sent out. My gas cap lid was very minimal so I prepped it myself and touched it up. Time will tell.

Overall I'm very happy with the results. Tom Bell Collision Center in Redlands is doing the work for Toyota of Redlands and I must say they did an awesome job. No tint damage, nothing broken, and the dust was very minimal. They had my truck for 1 week and I was provided with a Camry for a loaner at no charge.

I'm just happy that Toyota is actually doing this, and to have my truck back. And hope to have no more issues with paint.

    My first Toyota Tacoma
Met with dealer today with my 17’, manager took pics. Told me he would get back with me after Toyota approved work. Manager did mention they would ONLY do fenders and doors. My roof right above windshield is starting to come off. I’ll have shop quote it, but might just touch that part up myself if it’s too high. Will report back once it’s started with pics of finished work.

Update: I finally dropped the truck off at the dealer last week for the fix. I received the remedy letter a couple of months ago. Overall, the process went smoothly. The turnaround time was just over a week. They provided a loaner (a new Camry).

They did a nice job with the paint. All four doors and the front fenders were done. It looks brand new. As others have said, they also replaced the weather stripping around the windows and the plastic piece between the windows, which is now basically a thick sticker in my case.

Should I shy away from buying a white one owner low milage Tacoma with a clean CarFax and all service from an out of state Toyota dealer. I been provided detailed pictures. There's no evidence of flaking. The only slight blemish is a scuff on the left front bumper corner.
