I like how the color gets darker under different lighting conditions. It shows swirls and scratches pretty easily, but that comes with the slate/matte paint style. I bought mine used, and previous owner and dealership used mechanical car washes, but I plan to clay bar the swirls out, and give it a ceramic coating.

yes to all of this! i love how different it looks at night (almost black) vs. in the morning (gray with a bluish tint). it's a great color, but i always prefer flat to metallic colors and i know that it's not for everyone.

mine came straight off the truck already with swirls (per request by my detailer, i asked the dealer not to wash or touch the paint AT ALL), then i had paint correction done by my detailer (he pointed out a couple imperfections from the factory that were not fixable, but it was nothing worth fighting the dealership over) and ceramic applied. i have had white vehicles for almost 20 years prior to this one, and i would go right through any car wash without a care in the world, but now i'm one of those guys who will only go through the touchless wash (express only, for the least amount of extra crap) to keep the ceramic as pristine as possible. side note on the ceramic coating and the associated beading - it is super fun to blow the water off with a leaf blower after the rain.

I only bought the color because it was almost impossible to find the features I wanted with any other color. At the time anyway.

But this is the only vehicle I've ever owned that actually looks better when it's dirty. I don't really like the underground color at all. It's an ugly color. But when it gets dirty, it actually looks nicer.

harsh. I would never spend my money on a brand new vehicle in a color I hate, regardless of options.

My cheap tonneau cover is only temporary while my Leer canopy is being built, so once it's on I'll be able to do a side by side comparison of the paint brand new, vs almost a year of use. Also when I was looking at new 2024s, both Blue Crush Metallic ones at the dealership had swirls that were hard to see in daylight, but obvious at night.
