What do you mean it's acting up? The MAF Sensor has nothing to do with battery voltage.

There's no set interval for replacing it, you replace it when it malfunctions or stops working.

How you know it malfunction or stop working. I read it related to the voltage

    Typically you will get a P0100, P0101, P0102, or P0103 code.

Aftermarket intakes will almost always skew the MAF sensor reading because they are calibrated for the diameter and airflow characteristics of the stock intake, this may or may not cause issues depending on how far it is skewed.

There's a couple checks you can do to determine if it is reporting correctly using scan tool data.

    Idling:
At hot idle in park/neutral the MAF Grams per Second (g/S) should be near equal to engine displacement in Liters so 2.7 g/S for a 2.7L engine and 4.0 g/S for a 4.0L engine.

    VE Test:
Doing a WOT pull through first gear while recording peak RPM, Peak MAF, IAT, and Barometric pressure then entering it along with engine size into one of the calculators linked below.

What are the symptoms you are experiencing that makes you think your MAF is bad?

When I'm at a stop and idle my voltage drops from 14.1-14.3 to 13.8-13.6

This is completely unrelated to the MAF.

-Your alternator makes voltage for the battery.
-The MAF measures air for the engine.

    Two completely different systems.

Please please explain why this is a problem and why you think it has anything to do with the MAF.

This has nothing to do with the electrical charging system. The MAF sensor measures the flow of air into the engine for the ECU to make air/fuel adjustments. I think you may be confusing this with something else.

You don’t have a problem. You are making a problem where one doesn’t exist. Just drive that Taco and forget about the voltage shit.

Anything in the 13.2-14.8v range is normal battery charging voltage with the engine running.

I'm with everyone else, not sure how your correlating the MAF sensor with battery voltage?

I don’t know why you are even measuring the voltage, nor where you are measuring it. It has nothing to do with MAF. No one here measures their voltage unless they have problems with the battery or alt or maybe a couple other things. If the truck runs good and no lights are going on just ignore it and drive. You are creating a problem that doesn’t exist. This whole thing makes no sense. Or if it makes you happy spend a couple hundred and buy a new MAF. Just forget the voltage thing. Just drive the damn truck. I’m done here.
