Here is a question I have,
How do I get a decent picture from my back up camera? On a nice day, no complaints. When it rains, absolutely shit. Add night and rain, forget about it.
My wife’s 2017 Lexus is200t, beautiful, clear picture rain or shine, day or night.

To each his own, when my dad bought his 23 he asked what I thought. I said its ugly, but I guess the look grew on me. I wish he was here to see what i drive now. But once I color match and lift and tires it'll look much better. Stock never look as good as modded.

At my last job I worked next to an Army Reserve headquarters. Going home one day I went by the bank the time and temperature sign in front of the bank read four degrees. I was almost to my turn off when I came upon a guy in a Army T-shirt and shorts out for a run. Now before everyone gets all impressed he was wearing a beanie and gloves. That said, to this day that remains one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.

I was looking at a black limited with grey leather interior last week. The extra room is nice, but the seats are rock hard.

I agree with that, enjoy your new ride! Not cutting you down. You are posting on a Tacoma forum, so opinions will be biased. Me personally, I don't think you "traded up."

Where did you end up running the wires to tie into the battery? Below the steering wheel and then out through the firewall, I would imagine, but I'm curious how you did it to make it clean. And where are you thinking of tying a switch into the system?

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
I bought my Taco used, the previous owner had wired (poorly) some additional lights. There is a grommet through the firewall left of the steering wheel and clutch pedal where several wires pass through. I added a longer chunk of wire from the 3TPAM USB module to a fuse and tapped the main battery clamp.

I'd like to add a switch on the 3TPAM somewhere that will allow me to control the power to that module. It would be even better with a 3 position switch for always on, off, and ignition power, but then I need a source for switched ignition power in there as well. I may add a digital voltmeter that only displays when I push a button. This weekend I had the idea to add the voltmeter to the overhead map lights - unfortunately reading the voltage there did not match the reading I got at the battery.

Yeah, used some engine assembly grease to ease the installation and some WD40 to clean it up. Stud was the same size. Got it from Oriellys for a few bucks.

My first wash, clay bar, and wax since I bought her brand new last year. I absolutely hate doing this. But I should probably do it twice a year.

A switch on the 3TPAM would be cool, and the idea of a voltmeter is also a nice touch. I tapped the DRLs for my ignition on for a switch panel that links my other electrical accessories. I could tie into that, but it seems like a waste of a switch spot for something that, 90% of the time, I would prefer to have on.

An OEM switch like the tailgate light switch is what comes to mind for the switch you're thinking of adding (if it was not on the actual 3TPAM). If I remember correctly, the three switch levels should be ON, On Door Open, and OFF. The anytime camera has the same switch style; there might be only two. That could be a terrific way to add a switch if you've got the space to add one. There has to be a switch style similar to either of those that could be used to regulate the power draw and what not

i did a little brainstorming about this.

I came up with a three way 3" pipe and an adjustable 3" blast gate I can open up and dissipate some of the heat should do the trick.

    IMG_7066.jpg

    IMG_7064.jpg

I will get a piece of cardboard and trace out the outline for the abs insert in the topper side window where the 3" flange will pipe heat into the topper. Then trace it on the abs plastic and cut it out. Then I'll trace the flange on the abs and cut out the hole and drill the screw holes to mount the flange to the abs and bolt it down.

Ordered everything today. Just need to order my tire step, my 600 ah LIFE P04 battery, my 30A LIFE P04 charger. Then I need to order a solar panel and the cable/connectors. I also want to run a dedicated line from the truck battery to the bed. That way I have three ways to charge the Life P04 battery. Dedicated charger at home, from the truck battery while driving around or with solar.

A fridge in the bed and a plugin for my laptop and I'll be set.

The above post by @tmcarpen was the seed of the idea. I probably won't use an OEM switch position, rather I would 3D print a housing that would mount to the 3TPAM which would contain both the switch and the voltmeter. The voltmeter shouldn't draw much, and if I'm pulling power while the truck is off, I should probably be monitoring the battery voltage anyway.
