    Afternoon all:

Hope you're feeling better Ken, that flu bug isn't going away anytime soon, you don't hear much about it though since Covid. Like Jim said, a touch of pneumonia isn't great, hope you'll be out of the hospital by the end of the day.

Those are some beautiful pics. of sunrise and sunsets!
Speaking of Hawaii, where's Cheech, haven't seen him post in quite a while. :(

The hard work is done, after 4 hrs. of steaming these molds I will have plumb pudding and then a supply of cookies! :hungry:

And the pic of the Alaska sunset it just so happens that Ken (johneman) and his wife were on the same cruise ship as us and yes we met up while aboard.
Ken, get yourself well, kick the flu’s ass. Wishing you a Merry Christmas

I'm just a few months away from the 70's forum. I still have my bought new 06 SR5 4.0 4X4 and just purchased an 03 TRD-OR 2.7 Prerunner.
The 06 at 96K miles is still in cherry condition and the 03 at 312K miles is slowly being brought back from severely neglected state. Keeps an old fart like me busy I suppose.

Me or the plumb pudding!
If you're talking about the plumb pudding, some recipes do call for it in the batter, some call for it to be poured over it when it's done and then light it to burn off the alcohol, guess you could do both, but I don't do either. Same with citron, some recipes call for it but the version I make doesn't use it, citron belongs in fruit cake!
My grandmother and my mother used to make a confections sugar based sauce to put on it that was good but crazy sweet, I haven't used that at all since I have to make them, I think there's another butter based sweet sauce that some people use but I like the taste of them just the way they are. I think my buddy just heats a slice up and puts some butter on it, I should try that.

Somehow missed the post about your parents being in the hospital with the flu Paul, wishing all the best for both of them.

@ Rob MacRuger, a few of us are closing in on the 80's forum, darn kids!

Nope, just a regular deck ape assigned to a boat crew where I ended up as a 3rd class Boatswains mate coxswain and was pending 2nd class upon discharge. Went to reserves hoping to get 20 in for some extra pension $$, after 13 yrs total called it quits due to the hassle with work scheduling, at that time I was pending chief but was perfectly happy to be a BM1.
Gotta laugh when I think back, the WO in charge of us was a torpedoman, heck of a nice guy, but didn't know a darn thing about boatswains mates, then there was our BM chief, who with bloodshot eyes and being barely able to stand at morning muster was always asked "you got anything to add chief" and his reply was always "NOPE", and then after muster you normally wouldn't see him for the rest of the day!
Then there was our BM1, when we got assigned to 3rd Div. boat crew he said something to the effect that "there are only 2 types of people in the Navy, Boatswains mates and those who wish they were", guy must have either been brainwashed or hit in the head with a pelican hook!
