No I didn’t. I left that to the signalmen. That BMC decided to go LDO when he made BMCS. Changed to Ensign then promoted up to Lcdr. I guess priorities change over time. I retired in 1993 and unfortunately the navy no longer calls them Boatswain mates, I think they are called Deck specialists, or some silly shit like that.

OOPS, forgot about Ensign, that would add another pay grade jump for him.
WHAT, deck specialists, that's blasphemy, one of the oldest rates in the Navy and someone decides to rename it, what next, a crossed needle gun and a paint brush to designate the rate!

Bucktales, that Z-16 you posted on car porn is gorgeous, I never saw one, not even a clone, only pictures.
Probably mentioned this before, that universal clock on the dash always catches my eye, I have one on my "66" Impala. Back in the day I saw a few 65 Chevell's that had one on, but on the 66 B-bodies they are extremely rare, every time you see one for sale it's usually listed for a Z-16 Chevelle even though they were also available for other 65 Chevell's and the 66 B bodies. Of course, just listing it for a Z-16 makes it even rarer and justifies the ridiculous price they are now asking for them!

 

This a quick note to let folks know that my wife is back home as of about 3:00 this afternoon, Christmas Eve. Her problem turns out to be a bit unusual, and I feel as though the hospital folks did a pretty good job in tracking it down in a short amount of time. "Temporal arteresis" if anyone wants to look it up; don't bother unless you're a senior caucasian female because they're the ones that mostly get hit by it. We have a ways to go before the tunnel ends, but the light we see from here is very bright.
