Has anyone rerouted the USB for media on the CarPlay equipped trucks to another location? If I could swap the one on the dash for one of the ports inside the console it would clean up the interior so much. Any advice super appreciated.

    Pic for attention.

I'm planning on doing this. This link to the first cable is still active. I was able to source one. The cable to re-use the port on the second link never came. I ordered it twice and got my money back both times. Haven't done the install yet, I'll get around to it. Still looking for that cable.

I relocated mine to the glove box. Popped that USB port out of the dash, added a jumper, and then mounted the new part in the glove box.

yo that ipod was my shit. unfortunately mine got stolen...

many hours of my life spent organizing and renaming mp3 files so it visually looked better on the ipod with damn album cover images. definitely a different era.

Same. It lives in the wife's car now. Replaced mine with an ipad mini so I can use the maps.

Here's where I got mine if interested though. https://eoe.works/collections/shop-all-new-refurbished-apple-ipod-classic-apple-ipod-video

They basically refurbish ipods with newer technology. I got it over 2 years ago and mine has a solid state drive. I think they make some now with bluetooth built in, ha.
