1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

My moms neighbor was nice enough to let me borrow this for the week while she’s out of town, and it’s really cool. Manual windows all around, comfy seats and ride, and so much interior space. The 3.slow gets a lot of hate, but this one has apparently never been opened at 182k - seems like it would’ve blown by now if it was going to. It’s really not that much of a dog with the 5 speed either.

 

with your vehicle luck lately that thing will have a blown head gasket by end of day tomorrow

 

the 3.0 / 5speed is a fairly driveable combo as far as old slow vehicles go. the auto is a power vampire lol

 

What would you call having the opposite of the Midas touch?

I remember reading the 5 speed 3 slows were more reliable than the autos on an old Yotatech forum, maybe cause they didn’t have the pink milkshake or something.

I had the same thought. It seems to run strong though. I’m sure if I bought it it’d happen soon though. I have no idea if she even wants to sell it, or what she’d want for it. Can’t be worth much more than 3k I’d think. But yea I have my doubts it’d make it all the way to Idaho.

 

Ive read somewhere the driveshafts can take out the bell housing if you’re not careful

 

I can still sleep well at night knowing I'm my own biggest problem

They have some HiPrex Nissan fuel hoses I would love to run on a Toyota. I think I have some of their silicon vacuum hose that I run on Toyotas.

 

trying to buy a 3 pin caliper retractor tool and the guys at advance are looking up repair videos for the car because they don't believe me

 

It was timing... there's a specific spot on the reluctor wheel that cylinder 1 needed to be on

 

Went to the hobby store earlier, mainly cause I needed to rebuild my RC shocks so I bought some heavier weight oil

Wife saw the GX470 RC and insisted on buying it for me sooo...



GX will be my indoor crawler, and the LC will be my outdoor basher/crawler

2017 MDX, can't compress the caliper piston without the honda scan tool to disable the ebrake motor. im under the impression that you can still twist them in though, it has the slots for it
