He is a high level rep of Toyota. So basically from the mouth. As another poster pointed out above, Bilstein may have the capacity unlike the boutique highly specialized very low volume alternative shock makers.

Yeah I get that, but there's no evidence other than those 2-3 seconds. Just seems strange to me.

Design IP and mfg can be very divorced in the auto industry. Bilstein may build them today. In two years Toyota may choose to move the mfg to Hitachi. The 4Runner Trailhunter's shocks may be built by Tokico, because Bilstein may not have a large production facility in Japan, etc., etc.

Just following up on this: Parts were ordered at the end of 2024. Still haven't arrived and no idea when. Dealer is stating that these are on "Stop Sale" when he attempts to order. Can anyone on here verify? It's a Rear Passenger "Old Man Emu" shock. Picture:IMG_4862.jpg

Funny, I’ve had them across multiple platforms and they were the leakiest, high maintenance junk ever. Even had a coil spring fail on me.

Great when they work. But just not durable. YMMV.

Almost certainly made by a high-volume OEM under license. Standard practice in powersports to have fake "Brembo" brakes and "Fox" shocks.
