wanted an offset but not a Fender. found this Bacchus somewhat locally for 850$. Japanese craftsmanship blows away most Fenders i've played except for high dollar custom shop pieces.
fun fact, this brand actually hand makes their Craft series (which this is) and up still. no CNC machines!

How do you guys structure practice?

kinda realized i plateaued a couple months ago and just playing whenever i get some time isn't working anymore.

What kind of ratio’s would you guys recommend for exercises, lessons(like justin guitar or whatever) and practice/playing.

    TIA

Start with carving 15 minutes a day outta your sitting on the throne schedule (or other mundane activities) and put those 15 minutes towards practice, noodling, theory whatever. Just pick it up for 15 mins per day. If you miss a day or two, no worries. It's the discipline of schedule.

I schedule M W F for 2 hrs each, then an hr over the weekend somewhere...I usually hit 6-7 hrs per week. Summer close to 10.

Find a buddy to play with, especially if you are plateauing...different styles and views nudge ya outta that. I do online jamming with a buddy online via jamkazam, and jamulous works well also (200 bux hardware investment.

Marty Music I go to when I wanna learn something on YouTube, but there's a bunch of peeps to check out...

I’ve gotten into alot of backing tracks to play around, but I tend to lean on the lead side

And because you're just up the highway from me....this dood was in Windsor but went back to NB. Good content...

Hey there. I don't drop in here too much as I regretably don't spend enough time doing music anymore... and it would cause me to "guilt spend" on new things I see to make up for that lol.

Buuutttttt, just to drive home the point of not paying attention from kind of having a bad year here at our house, HOW IN THE HELL DID I MISS THIS UNTIL NOW ????

    https://reverb.com/item/86017673-mesa-boogie-mark-iic-amplifier-head-re-issue

It may not be everyone's cup of tea and yes pricy, but to those who know, holy F grail batman.

I've gone through a fair amount of boogie products in four decades, but I still have the very last one I bought ~20 years ago and the very first one I bought. The first being a new mid 80's SOB combo (so yes coming on 40 years of ownership!).... my first and last love haha.

I picked this brand new "1957" Custom Shop Gibson J200 a couple of months ago. It was one of those that I really should not have played in the store. It was the best sounding brand new guitar I've ever played so it kinda had to go home with me. I finally got around to making a portrait of it this week. Gibson J200 1957_2048_v3.jpg

Thanks a lot. I've had a blast over the last forty + years and these days mostly shoot for myself or record my pro musician gf for all sorts or projects. She's the one on my website with the accordion. When I met her she had three and now there are twenty-nine. They've had babies and grand babies. Short gestation period I think.

I have two Martins - a '49 00-17 that's beat to crap but sounds amazing, a '47 000-18 that I partially traded a couple of George Harrison prints for from Norm's Rare Guitars, the J200 I just posted, another J200 from 1966 that's getting a neck reset and bridge work now and was owned by John Prine for twenty years. Then there's a 2020 Gibson Southern Jumbo that's really a nice guitar, a 2002 Goodall Grand Concert and a '62 Danelectro Longhorn bass. And then of course there are my gf's 29 accordions, but that's another story.

Yeah, that Prine guitar was kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity and I sorta hemmed and hawed over that and finally decided that you only live once and to just go for it. It needed a couple of grand worth of work and should be out of the repair shop soon, so I'm curious to hear how that's going to sound.
