Im going on Monday to look at a Yamaha Raptor 350 Special Edition. I'm 5'10" and 170lbs. If you know anything about it? Help me out! Please

My main concern is.... Is the 350 big enough for me? Power, size, etc?
I don't race or anything like that but I still want it to be quick.

the raptor 350 should be plenty for you if your not looking for a rocket, very good motor/suspension package on them. Buddy has had a few warriors (350) and the raptor 350-660-700 and he had said before that really the 350 was just as much fun because you didnt have to hold it back all the time to keep from killing yourself.

I had a 350 warrior in the past. I was younger then but I remember it being plenty fast. I think Im gonna do it. I've heard good things about the can-ams but I'm pretty much sold on this one. The guy only wants $1,900 cash for it. I can definately afford that.

Its going to be slooooowwww....but for $1900 go for it if you aren't looking for something you will be riding every weekend. Trail riding??

I bought a Z400 2 years ago, I ride a couple times a month most of the year and I now wish I'd went with the LTR450, but I ride the sh!t out of my 400 and keep up with the guys . Slightly modified it is faster than stock 450's, but modded 450's spank me :D.

I've ridden the Raptor 350 and didn't like it at all, I'm a chick and a little smaller than you...but for a cheap toy I guess you will manage. My friends 12yr old daughter is ready to move from a 250 to a 350 ;). My 400 was a little much for her yet.

I think you would be happier on a 400 (Honda or Suzuki) which you could find for only a little more $$ or a 450 (Yam/Honda/Suz) or a Raptor 660 or 700, which are much more $$$.

    Post some pics..

I don't know what kind of riding is in FL, but if you plan on riding in sand that 350 will be a turd, it wouldn't climb most dunes where I ride, sand=power robbing. For cruising some trails, it will be fine, but a utility quad would be more comfortable for that. I rarely ride trails cause it beats you up pretty good on a sport quad.

350 raptor's are junk go with somethinmg else my buddy has on it all ways something with that damn thing I getting to the point i wont ride with him because i have to keep townig his ass back to the truck. I would look it to a predator or outlaw 500 you cant kill them very few problems and they hual $ss unless u want to race then go with a 450 honda ,yamaha , but stay away from that 350

Like stated before the raptor 350 is an ok bike for just messing around on... I have rode on those, the 660's and 700's. However personally in the group I ride with it's a mixed bag of Honda's, Yamaha's, and Suzuki's. Mainly the sport models. And from what I have noticed it all comes down to the care of the bike. Theres an old Recon that looks like its bout ready to die yet just cranks right up on the first push of the button. And then they have a 400ex that has been through god knows what. And I will tell you this I would rather ride that 400 over those 660's or 700's.
So in my opinion the see if you can try a z400 or 400ex, get a feel for it. I own a 300ex that I wish I would have gone with the 400. Its perfect for nice tight trail sections and more than enough ummph to get you up and around. But now I am going to look into a 450r. But hey to each there own and hope you have fun with whatever you end up getting :D

Since it sounds like you are buying used..... see if the guy will let you test ride it? That's the best way to see if there is enough power for you.

Walt Corbin, I did just that. I test rode it for about 15 minutes. Dirt and up the street. Its got plenty of power for what I want to do with it. Like I said before, I'll get some experience and move on to something bigger. Luck for me I have some nice trails in my back yard. I don't need to even leave the house. Love it!

Well....(drum roll)...I picked it up. I'll post pics of it soon. Thanks for everybody who put in their $.02 Oh, and Sandy Foxy Chick,...Your ATV is bigger than mine and your trucks bigger than mine....wanna go out?

Tons of fun already. I used to stunt so I tend to wheelie anything I can straddle. Anyways here's a pic of me right as I was getting a foot full of rear brake.

It was my front yard. I just bought a helmet for riding. That was my second day of owning it. Oh and yes, I touched grass but stomped the rear brake to save it.
