Hello, are you able to give us a quick review update? I know every canopy has its own leaking problem with each canopy company. I currently have a leer 100xq that I’m trying to get dialed in with leakage. I found one alucab like this one that could fit my first gen Tacoma for about 2k but I’m not sure if it’s worth taking the chance with a newer style cab after seeing reviews. Please help.

When these shells came out they were designed for the 2nd gen Tacoma and later for the 3rd gen. These mounts came with the shell and are made to work with the connecting rails built into the bed of the 2nd gen. I used part of the bracket they supplied me with (in blue) and made my own L shape bracket (in red) to make it work with the 1st gen bed rails. I may have some extra brackets (in blue) if I can find them and you would just need to cut some L brackets from angle iron.

I have been very pleased with the shell. Its super light, built very well, and doesn't leak at all. The side wing doors seal out all rain and dust. You will see dust on the bed in the corners and on top of the wheel arches if you don't seal up the bed under the bed rails with a silicon sealer. 2K is a great price for this shell. It fits perfect on the bed. My only complaint is the shell height doesn't quit reach the cab height which is expected as it was designed for the 2nd gen that had a different roof height from the bed rails.
