Started doing rivets on my car (building the wall between the cabin and the trunk) and realized my hand can't grip the rivet gun without lots of pain. So, I decided to get a pneumatic one. Holy crap, I should have gotten one of these many years ago. This thing is awesome. I added a swivel set to the air inlet.

 

If you can get a conversion kit for Rivetnuts you'll really be set

 

they really make that?

I am in the market for a table saw. Leaning towards a ridgid 10” for lifetime service agreement.

Anyone have a lead upcoming deals? Or any other input?

 

What are you going to use it for? General wood working, basic carpentry, fine carpentry, larger wood working/carpentry?
Do you want a portable saw or a large woodshop saw?

 

Mostly general carpentry and custom millwork for trimming out windows and closets in old homes (rental properties). Portable with stands.

 

I definitely suggest looking on HD website. I have found that often times, I can find better deals on Ridgid tools online than at the store.

 

I have the DeWalt 8-1/4 table saw and am very happy with it for a compact fine table saw. The dewalt below is the 10 inch version. All three saws below are good, Dewalt has the best fence design in my opinion. Regardless of saw I would replace the blade with a 60 tooth diable blade immediately.

Thanks for the info. In the market for a new table saw myself. The dewalt fence you mentioned, is the rack in pinion that you like on it? Had my eyes on the ridgid but noticed that one doesn’t have it.

 

Yes its the rack and pinion fence design, both the front and rear of fence are moved at the same time very smoothly via a geared knob so its easy to adjust it exactly where you want and you know the fence isn't at an angle which I've had happen on some other fenches. I will admit for the smooth effortless adjusting you do have to keep the front track from getting clogged with saw dust, just having a whisk broom is all you need after 10 or so cuts. I believe skil saw also has a similar rack and pinion fence on one of their table saws.

For what it's worth I have the 10" DeWalt and love it. Not that I have many to compare it to (just a Ryobi I used to have) but it's been solid. The fence is also nice on it and the measurements on it are actually accurate. Makes it nice of just doing sort of "rough" cuts to go from say 4", move the fence to say 10" and have the cuts actually be 4" and 10" and repeatable

 

Needed a new comprehensive tool set as mine has been used, abused and weathered by life.
I love how compact and organized it is and everything feels very well made/designed.
The only thing it needed was some joint sockets, $10.00 Amazon problem solved.

 

Same here. If you do go with dewalt it’s on sale at Lowe’s. Only a $50 savings but still a savings.

according to that thread, the same saws were debated, and the 8.25 is all over marketplace for cheap because no one wants them, but the 10" is still selling used at nearly-new prices, indicating major buyers remorse for the 8.25 and it's limited cut depth on angles, but high satisfaction for the 10"
