Cool story!! What's all been done to it? I figured 540 hp was stock, but I can't keep up with the horsepower wars back then.

Reason I asked is one with similar miles and color was for sale in Colorado a while back.

I'm past the mid-life thing, but was prompted to quit riding the m/c, so I traded the old 2002 family sedan for a gr86, just because I need some kind of fun ride.

I really like this color. Black or bronze wheels...

Almost drove to New England for this one.

Stock was 500 at the crank back in 08.
It’s been tuned, smaller SC pulley, Wipple throttle body, cold air intake and KR exhaust along with the 3.73’s replacing the stock 3.31 axle ratio.
The lack of traction makes it a hand full for sure. Newer models had a lot more electronic nannies the 08’s did‘t get.
I really liked the 08-09’s due to more of a throwback to the original GT 500’s. Iron block, solid axle, no nannies etc. nothing but raw power.

Sounds like you have some pretty good mods. The 3.73's are the way to go. Going to run any methanol injection?

The newer Mustangs have Nannie's, but you have to turn them off unless you want to cook your rear brakes. It's a love hate relationship.

The older raw power is pretty cool. I would have gone with a 2013-14 Shelby if the price was right. All the cars I looked at wanted more than what I paid for my Roush. I had a buddy bring his 2014 GT500 up and I had more fun than I should have. 662hp out of that 5.8L was pretty impressive. I could never see using anything other than Cup2 tires. That 2-3 shift can be a bit sporty if above 4500 rpm.

    IMG_6568.jpg IMG_6567.jpg

I tried to talk these two down from 60K plus with original tires.

It's originally a So Cal Speed Shop build but it's been redone several times by me. Paint by Mick Jenkins, flames by Dennis Ricklefs.

That is amazing. Good for you Steve. I'm pretty sure I can speak for the others when saying a photo dump of your cars is a necessity.

Ordered one month before my 50th birthday. I knew I could have waited another year for massive discounting but it was a MLC principle for me to buy this car at 50 :burnrubber:

Just arrived this evening. The wife put it in the garage since I was at work. The car doesn’t have the sport exhaust so I’m going to order a full exhaust system from Fabspeed.

Miata's are pretty damn good track weapons, but this would be ridiculous.

I'm sure you have seen similar builds before but it's just a fun watch.
