What size are you talking about?

 

LT265/75R16 (32" x 10.5" on a 16" wheel)

I was just pointing out that the Cooper website itself, and others such as Tire Rack, do not show that this size is available, but Discount Tire does (with a parts number) in case anyone wanted this relatively popular size for our Tacomas.

 

I keep meaning to contact them to ask about 16" sizes - will report back to confirm or deny their existence.

 

Discount says they've got over 100 in their warehouse with next day availability!

 

@PTSDTherapy I wanted to say thanks for all the great info on these tires. I just ordered a set of 285/75/18's to put on my Ram since BFG KO2's in that size are nowhere to be found. Your review, along with the lower weight, lower cost and longer tread life warranty, is what pushed me to these tires over the KO3's.

 

These look great, I assume those are "E" rated? How is the ride? Harsh?

Also, could you possibly measure the mounted dimensions? Height and width? I am looking at going up to 285, but concerned about harsh ride if the e rated tires and milage hit

 

Yes, E. I was nervous about ride quality as well, but am pleasantly surprised with PSI at 33F/32R, where they make decent contact. You get what you get on a 7” width basically.

Down 3 to 4 MPG both city/hwy from Baja Boss in SL 32”. Only a couple tanks through it so far after the tires and OTT. 15-16 around town and 19-20 hwy calculated at fill ups.

At this PSI on 7” wheel - around 31.5 x 10.5 section.

No regrets, other than not doing gears, yet, those will be next.

 

Thank you for this information, they run shorter than I would have expected, this may be a good option for me.

Did the ott make a big difference with the 285s?

 

Yea I hadn’t measured them yet. They are for sure bigger than the 32” that came off. I did the OTT same time as tires so I’m not sure…it’s going into 5th at 38mph and it just lugs around at 1200rpm. Feels weird needs more rpm to be happy I think. I just don’t use 5th until 45 or so. It’ll lug around in 6th in the mid 50’s lol

 

Ok, sorry, I thought you meant the 285s were 31 1/2.

 

The 285 measure 31.5” on the truck. I’m sure they’d be larger unmounted without weight. Never measured the 32”, they were probably 30.5”

Saw my brother this weekend, he bought my old 32” tires. They measure 30.5” mounted FYI.

 

i'm coming from cooper ST MAXX in 285/75/r16. these tires have been a great and solid tire for me. but, they are heavy as heck and i'm looking for a tire to gain me back some MPG and on road qualities to improve. Looking at this tire is about 7-8lbs lighter than my current tire. I'm also looking at the Yokohama Geolander at go15. it looks more road oriented than this tire but this tire is about 3lbs lighter than that tire so i'm wondering if this one would net better fuel economy. anyone running this come from that Yokohama tire?

 

Just put a set of this size on my 23 Off Road Access cab. I really like that it’s smooth on the highway, and handles great on dirt roads. I got a slight height increase, maybe a half inch, really improves the profile IMO. They are rather heavy, and my mpg has decreased. All in all, I really like these!

 

First of all, thank you for your service. Secondly, I appreciate the reviews. I love my Cooper AT3 XLT's on my Tacoma. Not the sexiest tires, but the balance great and wear super well, not to mention quiet on road. I was bummed when they became a casualty of Cooper being bought. These are high on my list for my next set.

 

KO3's are crazy heavy too. What I like about the strong hold is they are on the lighter side compared to other options in the same size.
