Well, a bit of a twist from my previous first posting…

My lovely wife and I were discussing the used 2015 and previous Tacomas and my ideas for lowering a Crew Cab.

“You are trying to convince me that you want the Tacoma, right?” She had replied, “That sounds good, but if you want a Tacoma, I do like the newer ones more. Besides you will have a warranty as well.”

WoooHoooo… \o/, But now I have to modify my plans and choices, some radically so.

My wife had made three strong suggestions, that the Tacoma would be a 2024 model, in Blue Crush, with the larger infotainment screen. She also agreed to my choosing a manual transmission model as well, as she is also fine with rowing gears as I am.

I however will still be keeping some ideas of moderate lowering of the Tacoma on the table, because it is a 4WD model. I personally don’t have the desire to go 4 Wheeling, but will use the 4WD in one possible snow days, tho however rare they may be.

I will pursue the lowering ideas in the future, possibly with different wheel, tire, and suspension choices, possibly even using an air ride system.

Now before any 4WD purists want to harp on my case for such weird ideas, I will tell you I will keep the Tacoma’s 4WD system and only use it when needed. And I had over ridden my preference for RWD and chose the 4WD strictly for the manual transmission option alone.

Yeah, ok, call me weird. I’m quite used to it actually… XD.

Any and all suggestions will be considered and I will be all ears, and thankful for each reply.

Pictured will be a truck close to the Tacoma we like, and the second will be a Toyota SUV that had been extremely modified and lowered.

Why, because I simply love the idea of a slammed, well done Toyota.

    Cheers and God Bless…

I want to see a lowered 4G rear wheel drive Xtra Cab. There was the XRunner concept but that isn't the same thing.

Nice to have the manual. You won't go wrong getting a manual. Too bad the manual 2wd xrunner isnt an option anymore.

My wife loves manuals but never could (would never really) want to drive anything midsize or larger in a car, let alone a pickup. Fast forward put her in a nice 6 manual factory low extended Toyota and its game on like she was born in it.

Nothing like watching a lady shifting gears…

When I met my wife in 2001 in North Carolina, she would drive her five speed neon dressed in those small work out shorts and a tshirt. She is also 5’2”, a natural southern belle blonde with great legs and smile. I loved watching her drive… ❤️❤️❤️. XD

(I know everyone would love a picture, but she has a terrible phobia of cameras, sorrys) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

21 years she is still my wife and my best friend. Pictured is a custom drawn sketch of us for our Anniversary.

Actually my first manual transmission car was an 1981 Toyota Corolla. Basic white, blue interior and just would not stop running. Loved that car. XD
Can’t wait to drive the new Tacoma 6 speed manual.

All my manual transmission cars were…
    1981 Toyota Corolla,
1985 Chevy S-10 Pickup with Iron Duke 4 Cylinder
    1985 Ford Escort Wagon
1995 Mercury Tracer (Ultra Violet metallic paint from factory)
1985 Ford Ranger RWD 6 Cylinder Ext Cab. (Great burnouts) XD
2000 Ford Mustang LX, (great car, went on Honeymoon with wife in 2003)
2003 Chevy S10 Extended Cab RWD, Five speed, used for delivery work.
1988 (?) Ford Probe, (one of the cars that tried to kill us)
1990 (?) Ford Explorer four door, v6 5 speed. Great truck.

    Wife:
1996 Plymouth Neon 2 door, tho she learned manual transmission in a VW Beetle.

All the other cars I owned were automatics…. Too many to list here..XD. (I would buy a car, drive it for a few months and sell it for something else if offered.)
