The only thing I can think might negatively affect the crawling is dragging the rear links.

He will be riding on his trailing arm. My lower links became the anchor, even with 40s. You tend to do smart things and be braver when the suspensions cycle well. o_O

Thanks dude! I'm stoked on it. Not in my possession, but I had a couple junkyards local that I could have had.

Yep. It'll be a learning curve, but it's for the better

Time to get this thread a little more up to date before I take off and spend 10 days in Hammertown. I've basically just been working on a list of things to do that needed to happen prior to Hammers! Still a few things to take care of before leaving as I'm writing this, but it's a manageable list of stuff at this point.

Starting from the beginning, new diff breather was needed badly. I originally used an OE Toyota breather, but I already knew that wasn't going to last.

Ended up putting some 3D printed caps on the cross support for the shock towers. They kept filling up with water, so this is an easy fix.

Trimmed the fenders even more. I'm at the point where I've taken 6 inches out of the bedsides. Full bump was basically just touching the fenders. Once articulated, it wasn't going to cut it anymore. Also tried a different fender cut that I'm liking a lot more than the standard round cut everyone does on these truck. I'll be doing the same cut on the front fenders once I get a new pair of front fenders.

Learned of a new issue I never thought I'd have, tires are getting into the wheel wells in the bed. I have an idea on how I'm going to tackle that, but that's something I'll have to do some cad work first before I cut the bed up.

Managed to keep the gas filler neck in the stock location for now. That'll change later and I'll finish the cut on the driver side later once I relocate that again.

Also cut the bedsides for a high clearance rear bumper. Clearance for days now!

Swapped the front wheel studs out to 1/2-20 studs to match the rear unit bearings. Easy swap. Got the tip from the guys at Sherpa Motorsports.

Lastly, swapped out the dying alternator for another Sukuzi alternator.

Spends the last 2 weekends building a new rear bumper. Super stoked on how this came out. Tried out a different approach compared to what is normally done with just the single piece of round tube the whole way around.

For those who want more detailed photos and the build of the rear bumper, here's the link to the Flickr album.

are you worried about the frame at all where the panhard bracket meets the frame? I was curious why Nick didn't plate that portion [IMG]

Nope. Between the majority of the frame that was plated where the panhard is tied into and the cross support to the otherside of the frame, I'm not worried about it. Nick has heard of zero issues from his customer's rigs running his kits.

You can see the external plating here for essentially the entire bracket too.

I was digging through the build pics and just realized that you essentially built the bumper off the frame. Any concern about it not being removable for anything in the future? I know you guys don't really deal with rust out there.

Damn. I'll have to catch you out there one of these days.

Nope. She's plated and welded directly to the frame. The rear bumper rarely came off as is before. I figured if I'm pulling this one of, it's to build a new one.

    Thanks Ferny!
